  • Patent number: 4949872
Abstract: A stackable container for holding large quantities of fluent material comprises an outer load-bearing multi-layer corrugated paperboard wall and an inner liquid-impervious bag. A plate with an opening through it is supported on a peripheral ledge slightly below the top of the container wall. The ledge is provided by the upper edge of one or more inner layers of the container wall. The mouth of the bag extends upwardly through the opening in the plate and is secured by a strap to a bag holder on the plate. A load transmitting member on the upper surface of the plate is of substantially the same thickness as the ledge, and extends to the same height as the outer layer of the wall. The bag holder is a ring, larger than portions of the opening in the plate and may be passed transversely through the opening but not when parallel to the plate.

  • Patent number: 4919306
Abstract: A container of corrugated paper board has a bag for holding liquid. The bag is supported by a plate which is adjacent the top of the container, the plate having slots through which are passed suspension loops attached to the top of the bag; keepers pass through the loops to hold them and the bag. A screw threaded filling fitting is provided in the bag. In an alternate embodiment, the top of the bag is rolled in a composite ring formed of metal and fiber board, the ring resting on the plate, and the bag extending into the container through a hole in the plate smaller than the ring; the suspension loops and keepers are also provided on this bag. A flexible discharge spout is held closed by a compression block and a strap, and is attached to a flap of a bottom plate by a severable band.

  • Patent number: 4850506
Abstract: A container is provided for large quantities of fluent material and comprises laminated walls, each of which is made of multi-wall corrugated board. A bag of flexible material is provided within the container and has a first fitting which extends into an opening through a wall of the container near the bottom; a flap covers the opening and conceals the fitting being held in position by a severable strap. The container has bottom-forming flaps extending from the intermediate one of three layers forming the container to form a bottom for the container.

  • Patent number: 4030600
Abstract: A collapsible bulk shipping container comprising a pallet with a tray secured to it, the front wall of the tray having a flap at its mid-portion severed from the front wall and fastened down against the tray bottom, the flap edges providing spaced detents. A wall element has a back panel, two side panels and two partial front panels, and is resiliently urged to flat condition. When placed inwardly of the tray walls, the edges of the partial front wall panels engage the edges of the tray flaps, which thereby hold the wall element open, providing front entry for loading the container. A single front closure panel overlaps the partial front panels of the wall element, to close the entry, this panel extending between the tray walls and the partial front panels.
