  • Patent number: 10595090
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed to implement a technique for viewer interaction and participation while viewing content. In one implementation, a computer system executing a software application presents video content to a user and receives user input at selected points of interaction during the presentation. The system provides feedback to the user according to the received input and information associated with the video content. In one example, this presentation, input, and feedback forms a game experience for the user.

  • Publication number: 20030106521
Abstract: A method for operating an internal combustion engine and a corresponding device are described, reference pulses (45) being generated synchronously with respect to the cyclical movement of at least one part of the internal combustion engine. At least one event moment for the occurrence of at least one event is calculated by an output unit (24) at specific, definitively preset time intervals of the cyclical movement. Moreover, an independent clock-pulse generator (25) is provided which generates clock pulses, the interval of the clock pulses being independent of the movement, and the interval of the clock pulses being smaller than the intervals of the reference pulses. The at least one event moment is expressed as the number of clock pulses of the independent clock-pulse generator, and the at least one event is triggered upon reaching the number of clock pulses.

  • Patent number: 6300724
Abstract: A rare gas illumination system and method are configured to provide a sweeping illumination effect. In one embodiment, the rare gas illumination system includes a tube containing a gas and having a first electrode at a first end and a second electrode at a second end. A first boot having a first transformer is coupled to the first end of the tube. A second boot having a second transformer is coupled to the second end of the tube. The system includes a controller having a microcontroller, a memory, and an output power driver. The memory is configured to store a plurality of control codes corresponding to a plurality of illumination patterns. The microcontroller controls the illumination pattern of the tube by executing the corresponding control code to selectively activate the output driver to provide a voltage signal to at least one of the first boot and the second boot.

  • Patent number: 4818968
Abstract: A system for controlling light propagation in a multiple tube display. Each tube has a pair of electrodes disposed at opposite positions, one of which is excited. Control means excites one of the electrodes of a first tube at a variable increasing power level to cause light intensity to sweep therethrough. A second control circuit controls excitation of one of the electrodes of the other tube to provide a variable increasing power level to cause light intensity to sweep therethrough.

  • Patent number: 4682146
Abstract: A rare gas automobile indicator light system employing a single horizontally disposed indicator tube operated to provide braking, parking, emergency flasher and turn indications. The indicator tube is operated at partial intensity for a parking function and at full intensity for braking function. The indicator is further operated by excitation of a single electrode on either side thereof to provide respective left and right-hand turn indications by providing a sweeping action of the light propagation to provide a pointing effect in the desired direction. The emergency flasher indication is carried out by virtue of causing periodic on and off switching of the indicator tube.
