Abstract: A system and method for signal virtualization, such as television signals. Signal source components such as television tuners supply television signals to be converted to computer-readable signals. Recording modules receive the converted computer-readable signals for implementation as data signals. A host server receives the data signals for serving to one or more frontend session components. A storage component of the host server (e.g., a hard disk) optionally stores one or more of the data signals in respective data files corresponding to respective video programs. A playback module receives the data signals from the host server and implements the data signals as television signals to be displayed on a television monitor component.
