  • Patent number: 5562057
Abstract: A shuttle embroidery machine having an attachment, corresponding to each needle, for the selective application of dish-shaped sequins onto a cloth wherein the continuous strip of dish-shaped sequins is indexed by a rotary feed wheel through a feed member having a channel for guiding the dish-shaped sequins for severance. Each dish-shaped sequin sequentially exits the channel by a cutting blade actuated at appropriate times in coordination with the needle that sews each dish-shaped sequin to the cloth.

  • Patent number: 5346664
Abstract: Apparatus for forming a continuous ribbon of connected dish-shaped sequins including a punch-and-die system for receiving a continuous ribbon of moldable material, a power source coupled to the continuous ribbon of moldable material to move the ribbon through the punch-and-die system incrementally to discrete spaced positions; and forming a score line at a first discrete position of the ribbon, punching a hole at a second discrete position of the ribbon, shaping the sequin at third and fourth discrete positions of the ribbon, forming the dish-shaped face at a fifth discrete position of the ribbon and accomplishing the formation of the score line, the hole, the outer shape of the sequin and the dish-shaped face on each sequin simultaneously by the punch-and-die system.

  • Patent number: 4807546
Abstract: An improved shuttle embroidery machine having an attachment, corresponding to each needle, for the selective application of sequin-like decoration onto a cloth where a sequin strip is indexed by a rotary coin-feed wheel through a feed member for severance by a cylindrical sleeve of the needle at appropriate times.

  • Patent number: 4308812
Abstract: A coventional Schiffli embroidery machine is modified to accommodate cones of yarn of at least an order of magnitude 15 to 20 times greater by weight than that of conventionally used spools. The cones, preferably mounted above the machine, are directed to the machine needles by a thread guidance system including a plurality of angularly disposed guide plates. Also included is a device for producing tension in the threads from each of the cones before being supplied to the needles. Such an arrangement provides considerably longer operation of the machine over the conventional machine as well as improvement in the stitching quality of the embroidered patterns.
