Patent number: 10150946Abstract: The present invention relates to a medium for storing, preserving, culturing, and/or differentiating stem cells. The medium employs a synthetic thermo-responsive copolymer, dispersed in an aqueous vehicle, which allows the medium to be readily “switched” between a non-gelatinous (fluid) form and a gelatinous form by simply adjusting temperature across the gelling temperature of the medium. As such, stem cells can be easily captured within a 3D gel matrix by simply mixing the stem cells with the non-gelatinous/fluid form of the medium and then gelling the medium by adjusting the temperature across the gelling temperature of the medium. The stem cells encapsulated within the gelatinous form of the medium may then be preserved for a significant time period before either using the stem cells directly within the medium (e.g. in therapy, or in culturing, differentiation, and such like), or after their extraction from the medium.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2014Date of Patent: December 11, 2018Assignee: The University of SheffieldInventors: Irene Canton, Steven Peter Armes, Nicholas John Warren, Harry Moore, Giuseppe Battaglia, Denis Cecchin

Patent number: 7073591Abstract: A subsea wellhead assembly has the capabilities of communicating from a tree assembly mounted on an inner wellhead housing to a casing annulus. A passage in the wellhead assembly extends within the bore of the wellhead housing from the casing annulus to the tree assembly. A portion of the passage is located within a casing hanger. The passage is opened and closed by a valve. The valve does not open the passage until the tree assembly is connected to the wellhead housing and a tubing hanger orientation sleeve lands in the wellhead assembly. The tubing hanger orientation sleeve actuates the valve when it lands to open the passage. When the passage is opened, the casing annulus is in fluid communication with the interior surface of the wellhead housing, which is in communication with the tree assembly.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 2005Date of Patent: July 11, 2006Assignee: Vetco Gray Inc.Inventors: Alfred Massie, Harry A. Moore, Richard Lovell, Kevin G. Buckle, John H. Osborne

Patent number: 5286633Abstract: The invention is concerned with enzymic triglyceride conversions, wherein more than one enzymic conversion zone and preferably the same number of deacidifications units are applied. The fresh triglyceride feed stock and the compound providing fresh fatty acid moiety are introduced into different parts of the system so that fresh triglyceride is contacted with a mixture of the compound providing fatty acid moiety that is reduced in the amount of fatty acid moiety that should be introduced into the triglyceride.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 1992Date of Patent: February 15, 1994Assignee: Van den Bergh Foods Co., Division of Conopco, Inc.Inventor: Harry Moore

Patent number: 4865866Abstract: Hardstock fats suitable for use in edible plastic compositions including emulsion products such as margarine and low fat spreads comprises a substantially saturated fat of which the 2-fatty acids consist substantially of C.sub.16 and higher fatty acids and the 1, 3-fatty acids are randomly distributed and contains 50% or more C.sub.14 and shorter chain fatty acids. The fats may be prepared by lipolytic rearrangement under the influence of a 1, 3-regiospecific lipase enzyme as rearrangement catalyst. The fats are also suitable for use in chocolate filling compositions.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 1988Date of Patent: September 12, 1989Assignee: Lever Brothers CompanyInventor: Harry Moore
