  • Patent number: 9426544
Abstract: A system is disclosed for detecting the presence of dielectric fluids and water in a utility enclosure. The system includes a sensor assembly that may be installed in the utility enclosure. The sensor assembly has an array of capacitance sensors extending into the utility enclosure to an area where the fluids are expected to be present. The sensor assembly also has a pressure sensor that can detect the total pressure of the fluids in the enclosure. The reading from both sensors can be feed to a processor and a transmitter that sends the readings wirelessly to a receiver assembly. The receiver assembly includes a wireless receiver, a second processor connected to the wireless receiver and a display. The processor may process the readings from the sensors to calculate and report the levels of fluids in the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 9147341
Abstract: The disclosure provides a wireless gauge reader system for use on an existing electrical substation where the substation has a window through which at least one glow tube is visible. The system includes a frame fastened to the substation that surrounds at least a portion of the window, and a door in connection with the frame that allows the door to open and close. The door includes a wireless gauge reader (WGR) that has an optical sensor that is positioned to view the glow tube when the door is closed. The WGR also has a transmitter to transmit a wireless signal based on the illumination state of the glow tube. Various aspects of the connection of the door to the frame are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8594368
Abstract: A configuration tool including a memory to store instructions, communication circuitry, and a processor coupled to the memory and the communication circuitry. The processor is configured to execute instructions to communicate with a device attached to monitor or control a piece of equipment using the communication circuitry. The processor receives data about a state of the piece of equipment from the device, and transmits configuration data to the device. The configuration data is configured to control how additional data about the state of the piece of equipment is to be acquired.

  • Patent number: 8411896
Abstract: A gauge monitoring system can include a parameter store that stores parameter data in digital form for at least one gauge. The parameter data can correspond to different gauge readings. An image processing circuit can be coupled to receive image data from an image sensor physically attached to at least one gauge. The image processing circuit can analyze the image data to generate image data points corresponding to the gauge image and generates a gauge reading from the image data points and the parameter data. A transmitting circuit transmit the gauge reading to a location remote from the gauge. A control circuit that activates the image processing circuit and couples the gauge reading to the transmitting circuit.

  • Patent number: 8165339
Abstract: A system for monitoring equipment in a non-invasive fashion may include at least one sense device comprising an electronics module that includes a image sensor, at least one controller coupled to receive image data from the image sensor and generate a reading value, a display that displays the reading value from the at least one controller. In addition, a mounting adapter, separate from and attachable to the electronics module, may be included that has a fitting portion adaptable to be affixed to the monitored equipment and an image opening that enables an image of the monitored equipment to be acquired. In other embodiments, a sense device may provide a signal, such as a DC signal from piece of equipment. A configuration tool may configure parameters by which a reading value is generated from such a DC signal. In one arrangement, a configuration tool may configure sense devices via a wireless connection, and display any images of the monitored equipment captured by the sense device.
