  • Patent number: 5338199
Abstract: The invention relates to a high speed aerial tow bag target of textile maial having a reduced aerodynamic drag provided with a frontside air entrance orifice and at least one air exit orifice at its tail. In order to reduce the drag of the tow bag and to improve its stability under flight condition the tail is provided with a contour tapering to the end of the bag and the hole area of the air exit orifices is made smaller than the cross section of the air entrance orifice at the front side.

  • Patent number: 4198863
Abstract: An electromagnetic torsion stiffness arrangement with integrated auxiliary elements in which a magnetic field exerts restoring forces on a current-carrying conductor when moved from its rest position. The magnitude of the restoring forces are dependent on variation of current density. The current-carrying conductor serves as a primary winding of a position sensor, while serving simultaneously also for indicating torsion stiffness. A monitoring winding coil is displaced half a pole graduation from the conductor and moves along with the conductor. The magnetic field is produced by two multi-pole magnetic systems which form an air gap and face each other so that opposite poles face each other at the air gap. The conductor is movable within the air gap. A secondary winding of the position sensor is located outside of the air gap of the magnetic systems.

  • Patent number: 4156366
Abstract: An accelerometer having an electromagnetic spring for restraint of an axially movable accelerator mass. The spring comprises at least one magnetic field transverse in direction to that of the mass and at least one conductor in the field, carrying current, for generating a restoring force during relative movement between the field and the conductor, the force being varied by varying the current flow to the conductor. A positive indicator comprises a first winding fixed mechanically to the mass and a second winding fixed to the casing of the accelerometer. The first winding carries a-c and the second winding receives an induced a-c signal with amplitude proportional to the acceleration, its phase position indicating the direction of acceleration.

  • Patent number: 4065974
Abstract: A spring system has an adjustable spring force and includes at least one magnet. The magnet has a magnetic field, and at least one conductor passing direct current is disposed in the magnetic field. The magnet is formed by a number of pole pairs disposed along the path of displacement of the conductor, and each of the pole pairs encloses an air gap; the current-carrying conductor is a wire.
