  • Patent number: 8068176
Abstract: In order to create a noise elimination device for the detection of the vertical sync pulse in video signals, which has a very fast locking behavior and in which additional components can be integrated easily, which components can measure fundamental parameters of the underlying composite video signal, it is proposed that the device comprises a vertical pulse detector (12), which detects successive vertical sync pulses in the composite video signal and a VPLL (vertical phase locked loop), which comprises at least a phase detector (18) that produces a phase error, at least a loop filter (20), at least an oscillator (16) on which the output signal of the vertical pulse detector is present as an input signal and which oscillator produces a clock signal phase-synchronized with the input signal, whereas the oscillator (16) is a counter which counts with an approximately constant clock frequency, while the length of an oscillation period of the oscillator (16) is determined by the change in its count due to a correc

  • Patent number: 6266096
Abstract: For a method of encoding digital data of arbitrary data rates of at least one data signal for jointly transmitting the encoded data with a digital picture signal, as well as a data encoder for such data, a flexible adaptation to different data formats is provided in which, in the encoding of data, at least parts of the edges of data bits of the data signal are replaced by synthetically generated amplitude values constitutes edges which are within the bandwidth limitations predetermined for the encoded data bits.

  • Patent number: 5438371
Abstract: At least a first and a second digital signal, both in parallel form, are converted to a single serial signal and transmitted from a digital color decoder to a signal processing unit so as to avoid picture disturbances in the signal processing unit. The first digital signal is dependent on the instantaneous value of a clock frequency used in the decoder for processing a digital color picture signal, and the second digital signal is dependent on the instantaneous value of a chrominance subcarrier frequency generated in the decoder and used for color decoding.

  • Patent number: 5168361
Abstract: In an arrangement for transmitting digital television signals from a plurality of signal sources to at least one signal sink, an interconnection of several video signal sources which are of a simple structure and simple to operate and can be used universally and reliably for different operating modes is enabled bya picture signal line group (7) for the transmission of luminance and color signals encoded as digital picture data from always one optional signal source of the signal sources (1, 2, 3, 4),a synchronizing signal line group (8) for the transmission of a picture data clock siganl and a line synchronizing signal from a clock signal source (45)and also an access-control (9) having for each signal source (1, 2, 3, 4) an access-control circuit (13, 23, 33, 43) which supplies an inhibit signal from a output (15, 25, 35, 45) when an inhibit signal is applied to an input (14, 24, 34, 44) or when a signal from the associated signal source (1, 2, 3, 4) is available there for transmission and which when an inhi
