  • Patent number: 6968843
Abstract: A process and system are provided for clearing modes of operation of a medical engineering device, especially modes of operation on a respirator (1), such as IMV (Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation, CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) or HFV (High-Frequency Ventilation). The clearing is performed with an external electronic, optical or magnetic storage medium, e.g., a chip card (2), on which data that determine the available modes of operation and optionally the duration of their availability are present. The data on the chip card (2) are read by a writing and reading unit (3) of the respirator (1). The data may be coded, the duration of availability of a mode of respiration may be controlled by keeping a time log (9) on the chip card, and the corresponding time periods are debited from the time log (9) each time a certain mode of operation is used.

  • Publication number: 20050207352
Abstract: The invention concerns a method of identifying a control element (31 to 40) of a telecommunication system as well as a telecommunication system and a control element (31 to 40) for executing this method. The telecommunication system has a plurality of control elements, wherein the control element (31 to 40) are connected via respective predefined ports (63 to 67; 73 to 77) with respective predefined Ethernet switches (21, 22) of a communication network (1) connecting elements (3, 31 to 40) of the telecommunication system. The control element (31) sends a request for determining its identification to an Ethernet switch (21). The Ethernet switch (21) determines the position of the control element (31) in the communication network (1) based on the position of the Ethernet switch (21) within the communication network and based on the port (63), the control element (31) is connected with the Ethernet switch (21). It replies position information to the control element (31).

  • Publication number: 20050175673
Abstract: The invention relates to feedstuff for aquatic animals, which contains at least two feed mixes of different composition in single-piece units and which is characterized in that the single-piece units comprise at least two contiguous and merging zones that contain the feed mixes separately from each other. Most preferably, the feedstuff consists of bi- or multicolored feedstuff flakes that contain different feed mixes or drugs in individual separate zones. The invention also relates to a method for producing the feedstuff. The flakes prevent the aquatic animals from selective feeding and allow the simple adjustment of a desired density and speed of descent.

  • Publication number: 20050129003
Abstract: The invention concerns a call control method for IP based telephone services and a call control server providing IP based telephone services within a communication network. The call control server assigns two or more IP telephone terminals to a telephone number commonly shared by these IP telephone terminals. It stores IP address data of these IP telephone terminals in the registry of this call control server which is responsible of VoIP calls directed to this telephone number. An IP telephone terminal transmits a presence message to the call control server when a presence button of the IP telephone terminal is pressed. VoIP calls directed to the telephone number are routed to that one of the IP telephone terminals assigned to the telephone number, the call control server has received the presence message from.

  • Publication number: 20040094687
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a supply unit for accommodating medical instruments. A middle part, which is located at an instrument (12) and is equipped with lateral guide surfaces (3), engages a height-adjustable middle part of the supply unit (1) with side cheeks (2) in an accurately fitting manner. So-called end position sensors (4), e.g., photoelectric cells, which send a signal to an evaluating and control unit when the height-adjustable middle part of the supply unit (1) has been moved upward to the extent that pins (14) arranged there are completely accommodated by complementarily designed pin mounts (15) at the middle part of the instrument (12), are provided at the middle part of the supply unit (1). The evaluating and control unit now releases a plug-type connection for the power supply (6, 7), for the data transmission (8, 9) and for the pneumatic supply (10, 11).

  • Patent number: 6479997
Abstract: A gradient coil system comprises a gradient coil for generating a rapidly changing magnetic gradient field in a working volume of a magnetic resonance apparatus, with a current path guided in windings on the surface of a geometric body, the geometry of which results in the desired spatial dependence of the magnetic field of this gradient coil in the working volume. N current power supplies (NG1, NG2) can be controlled with an analog or digital control signal to each generate a time-dependent controlled electric current (i1, i2) proportional to the control signal. The current path is divided into several parallel conductor paths which are electrically insulated from one another, and which form a doubly or multiply wound transformer, wherein the inductances of the various conductor paths with respect to one another as well as the mutual inductances with respect to one another have approximately the same value L.
