  • Patent number: 4903442
Abstract: A mast for measuring or illuminating purposes, especially for flight navigation lights or for wind measuring devices, which is designed as a glass-fiber or carbon-fiber reinforced plastic mast.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 23, 1988
Date of Patent: February 27, 1990
Assignee: G. A. Pfleiderer GmbH & Co. KG
    Inventor: Hartmut Trommen
  • Patent number: 4515547
Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus for the manufacture of conical hollow poles with an essentially circular cross-section, made of fiber reinforced synthetic resin, in which the fiber reinforcement is wound off from a carrying tube which is introduced into the mold, attaches itself onto the interior wall of the mold and is saturated by the synthetic resin which is injected into the mold from one end, with the nozzle being guided approximately longitudinally to the mold and with a light source arranged on the opposite end of the mold illuminating the interior of the mold, the inside diameter of which corresponds to the predetermined inside diameter of the pole at the pole bottom.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 2, 1983
Date of Patent: May 7, 1985
Assignee: G.A. Pfleiderer GmbH & Co. KG
    Inventors: Bruno Rother, Hartmut Trommen
  • Patent number: 4436781
Abstract: A reinforcement for a centrifugally cast, synthetic resin pole comprises a woven wire cloth interposed between a mat and an inner layer of a fibrous material. The mat is permeable to the synthetic resin and has a specific gravity lower than the specific gravity of the synthetic resin so that when the pole is fabricated, the mat and the entire reinforcement float on the synthetic resin and are ultimately disposed in the interior of the pole wall. Means for securing a lamp or the like to the pole, such as set screws or collar bands, penetrate the pole only to the woven wire cloth so that further penetration is prevented when the pole is swayed and any wobble or play between the lamp and the pole is avoided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 6, 1982
Date of Patent: March 13, 1984
Assignee: G.A. Pfleiderer GmbH & Co., KG
    Inventors: Bruno Rother, Hartmut Trommen
  • Patent number: 4405398
Abstract: A process for mounting a baseplate to a centrifugally cast, synthetic resin pole during the fabrication of the pole, the process comprising the steps of providing a mold having an inner wall the shape of which conforms to the outer surface of the pole and having a longitudinal end thereof open, providing a baseplate having a pipe connected centrally thereon and extending perpendicularly therefrom, attaching the baseplate to the mold such that the baseplate abuts the open end of the mold and such that the pipe extends within the mold and an annular gap is formed between the pipe and the inner wall of the mold, rotating the mold about its longitudinal axis, and injecting the synthetic resin into the mold in an amount sufficient to fill the annular gap. A baseplate for use in the mounting process is also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 29, 1981
Date of Patent: September 20, 1983

  • Patent number: 4383965
Abstract: A pipe-shaped body having an outer surface of synthetic resin with an inner reinforcement comprising an inner layer of fibrous material and an outer layer of a mat permeable by the synthetic resin and impenetrable by fibers of the fibrous material is formed by providing a mold having an inner wall shaped like the outer surface of the pipe-shaped body, inserting the reinforcement into the mold such that the mat portion thereof generally loosely abuts the inner wall of the mold, injecting the synthetic resin into the mold, and rotating the mold about its longitudinal axis.

Date of Patent: May 17, 1983
