  • Patent number: 11071244
Abstract: A device for coating seeds with a liquid dressing solution, including a housing delimiting a chamber for accommodating the seeds, a rotating system for mixing the seeds and the dressing solution, an air duct for feeding hot air into the chamber and a separating unit which is permeable to the hot air and separates the air duct from the chamber. According to this invention, the separating unit includes at least one perforated metal sheet that has an inner face facing towards the chamber, an outer face facing towards the air duct and a plurality of projections, wherein a projection rises obliquely in the direction of the outer face and forms an opening inlet, which is inclined to the metal sheet plane, on the outer face. This invention further relates to a method in which the device is used.

  • Patent number: 9714324
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing compositions containing vinyl-aromatic copolymers that are obtained in an emulsion polymerization process and comprise production-related salt inclusions. Said compositions are characterized by improved surface quality following storage in a warm-humid environment and are therefore suitable for producing molded articles having a class A surface that remains flawless over time.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 5, 2014
Date of Patent: July 25, 2017
    Assignee: Covestro Deutschland AG
Inventors: Hans-Juergen Thiem, Ingmar Hermsdorfer, Birgit Mannel, Andreas Seidel, Eckhard Wenz, Hans-Juergen Klankers, Lars Frye, Hartwig Kempkes

  • Patent number: 6487788
Abstract: A continuous process for the drying and gel formation of solvent-containing gel-forming polymers, in particular polysaccharide derivatives, by flash cooling of suspensions of the polymers, and an apparatus for the drying of solvent-containing products are described. The process comprises the steps: metering the solvent-containing polymer having a solids content of 1 to 65% by weight and at a pressure of in particular ambient pressure to 6000 hPa, at a polymer temperature of 20 to 100° C. into an evaporation zone (1), the evaporation zone (1) having a pressure of 0.1 hPa to 800 hPa, cooling the polymer, in particular to a temperature of <93° C.
