  • Patent number: 7448479
Abstract: A damping force is generated by keeping a damping force control valve closed when a piston of a hydraulic shock absorber starts to move from compression side dead center or expansion side dead center. A damping force control valve including a poppet valve for opening and closing a first fluid path is provided. A pilot pressure chamber defined from the fluid path by a valve element of the damping force control valve is provided. A linear solenoid and a pilot valve for increasing and reducing the hydraulic pressure in the pilot pressure chamber are provided. A check valve disposed in parallel with the damping force control valve is provided in a piston. A communication path for communication between the first fluid path downstream of the damping force control valve and the pilot pressure chamber is provided.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6276475
Abstract: Two embodiments of electric motor and reduction gear transmissions for driving the hub of a vehicle wheel. The construction provides a very compact, low cost and low noise drive through the use of two planetary transmission incorporated within the hub and disposed between a pair of stub axle shafts that are fixed to the vehicle frame. One planetary transmission, the first, is of the frictional type and the second, which transmits higher torque than the first, is of the spur gear type. An improved wiring arrangement is also disclosed for powering the electric motor.

  • Patent number: 5060745
Abstract: An improved drive unit and suspension arrangement therefor for a small snowmobile having an open tubular frame. The drive unit includes an internal combustion engine and a pulley type transmission. The pulley type transmission is supported within a transmission casing and is affixed to the frame for rigidifying the frame. The suspension permits more vertical compliance than for and aft compliance for vibration dampening without adversely effecting the rigidity.

  • Patent number: 4958534
Abstract: A hydrostatic transmission utilized in a tractor that drives a mower attachment. The hydrostatic transmission includes a control shaft that is operated through a linkage system from a shift control lever. An adjustable detent operates directly on the control shaft for locking the control shaft in its neutral condition. The linkage system includes a lost motion connection so that the detent can operate without having to move the linkage system or the shift control lever.
