  • Patent number: 6239069
Abstract: A protecting film for sublimation transfer image receiver, comprising a heat resistant substrate and an image protecting layer formed on said heat resistant substrate, the layer comprising at least one member selected from the group consisting of (a) a resin having a glass transition temperature of not less than 68° C. and (b) a resin having an alicyclic structure in the resin skeleton. The image protecting layer used in the present invention shows superior image durability and image preservation property, wherein highly sensitive, high quality images are maintained for a long time.

  • Patent number: 6048822
Abstract: A polyester resin having a glass transition temperature of not less than 15.degree. C. and a reduced viscosity of 0.15-1.5, which comprises a graft polymer comprising a polyester having an unsaturated bond as a main chain, and a radical polymerizable unsaturated monomer as a side chain, and a sublimation transfer image receiver which comprises a dyeable layer mainly comprising a dyeable resin comprising the polyester resin. Inasmuch as the polyester resin can provide highly sensitive images without the use of a plasticizer or an additive, it is suitable as a dyeable resin for a sublimation transfer image receiver. The images obtained by the use of a sublimation transfer image receiver having a dyeable layer containing this resin are superior in durability and preservation stability.

  • Patent number: 5446082
Abstract: A water-dispersible polyester composition for an image recording medium, comprising (1) a polyester having a glass transition temperature of not less than 40.degree.C., a specific gravity of not less than 1.25, a value of SP of 9.5-12.0, and at least one kind of hydrophilic polar group, and which is insoluble in methyl ethyl ketone, toluene, and a mixed solvent thereof, wherein 65% by mole or more of a glycol component constituting the polyester is ethylene glycol, in a proportion of 5-50% by weight, (2) an organic compound compatible with water in a proportion of 0-20% by weight, and (3) water in a proportion of 30-95% by weight all percentages by weight being based upon the total weight of said composition containing components (1), (2) and (3). When used for an image recording layer of an image recording medium, the composition of the invention is conducive to the durability of the recorded images excellent in heat resistance, resistance to plasticizer, resistance to fingerprint, and solvent resistance.

  • Patent number: 5278275
Abstract: A polyurethane resin composition containing a polyurethane resin composed of a high molecular weight polyol having a molecular weight of not less than 500, an organic polyisocyanate and optionally a compound having at least 2 active hydrogen-containing groups is disclosed. Not less than 30% by weight of the high molecular weight polyol is a polyester polyol, and the polyester polyol contains at least one tricyclic molecular skeleton in the molecular chain thereof in an amount of not less than 20 mole % based on total acid or glycol components.

  • Patent number: 5025580
Abstract: This invention discloses a three-dimensional card comprising a card body having a design such as a pattern, figure and/or colored motif on one side and a literal message or a writing space to be filled out on the other side and a frame made of a board which is thicker than the card body and having a central opening, the frame being integrally joined to one side of the card body to render the design visible through the opening. The design may be raised or three-dimensional for added display effect.
