  • Publication number: 20090309357
Abstract: A bite-in type pipe joint includes a first joint member having an internal thread and a second joint member having an external thread. An annular ferrule is formed integrally with the second joint member. By the time the first and second joint members are fastened to each other, the ferrule separates from the second joint member and bites into a pipe. The second joint member has a cylindrical cover that covers the ferrule. This structure prevents a distal portion and a tapered surface of the ferrule from being damaged when the joint member is handled. A refrigerating apparatus and/or a water heating device can include one or more of the pipe joints.

  • Publication number: 20090267343
Abstract: A pipe joint includes a joint body 1 into which a pipe 4 is to be inserted and a coupling member 2 which is arranged around the pipe 4 to be inserted into the joint body 1. The joint body 1 and the coupling member 2 include screw portions 14a, 21a, respectively. The coupling member 2 is fastened to the joint body 1 by mutually screwing the screw portions 14a, 21a. The coupling member 2 includes a holding portion 22. A pair of or a plurality of pairs of holding surfaces which are opposite to each other are formed on the outer circumferential surface of the holding portion 22 so that the holding portion 22 can be held by a fastening tool. A part of the coupling member 2 including at least the holding surfaces is disconnectable from the remaining part of the coupling member 2.

  • Publication number: 20090261573
Abstract: A pipe joint includes a sleeve that is non-movably integrated with a nut prior to the nut being threadedly coupled to a joint body. The sleeve is separated from the nut by threadedly coupling the nut to the joint body prior to contact between the sleeve and a guide surface of the joint body so as to stabilize the separation timing of the sleeve from the nut and ensure the sealing property at portions where the sleeve bites. When the nut is further threaded to the joint body, a distal end portion of the sleeve is pressed by a guide surface formed on the joint body and deformed. As a guided surface is guided by the guide surface, the distal end portion bites into an outer peripheral surface of the pipe.

  • Publication number: 20090167015
Abstract: To mount a partition cover (2) in a pipe joint (1), a nut (12) is screwed onto a joint body (11) to sandwich the partition cover (2) between the joint body and the nut. At this time, the partition cover is supported so as not to press a sleeve (13). As such, an opening (1a) of the pipe joint is sealed while preventing the sleeve from being deformed due to the partition cover being mounted.

  • Publication number: 20090158321
Abstract: A commercial processing apparatus which can improve an commercial effect and can arbitrarily select a means used for the improvement is provided. The commercial processing apparatus acquires an AV stream by using a tuner (2), a streaming processing unit (3), or a DVD drive (4). A demultiplexer (5) demultiplexes the AV stream to acquire commercial metadata. A web browser (7) acquires a script document in which a procedure for processing the commercial metadata is described. A JavaScript VM (6) interprets the script document acquired by the web browser (7), and performs a process on the commercial metadata demultiplexed and acquired by the demultiplexer (5) according to the description of the script document.

  • Publication number: 20090102191
Abstract: A guide tapered surface 17 of a pipe coupling port 16 has a small diameter portion 17a guiding to a distal end portion 3a of a bite type sleeve 3 to bite into a coupling pipe 5 and a large diameter portion 17b sealing a tapered outer circumferential surface 33 of the bite type sleeve 3 by making close contact with the tapered outer circumferential surface 33 of the bite type sleeve 3. A tilt angle ?1 of the small diameter portion 17a relative to a central axis of the guide tapered surface 17 is greater than a tilt angle ?2 of the large diameter portion 17b relative to the central axis. Therefore, even when a distal end portion of the coupling pipe 5 is not inserted up to an innermost portion of the pipe coupling port 16, excellent sealing performance is obtained in a portion coupled to the coupling pipe.

  • Publication number: 20090084127
Abstract: In a drain water discharging method for force-feeding drain water via a drain pump, clogging of a drain piping is prevented by controlling the drain pump. An air conditioner has a drain pan for collecting drain water that is dropped from a heat exchanger, a drain pump for discharging the drain water in the drain pan, and a DC motor for driving the drain pump. The DC motor for driving the drain pump is controlled to increase its rotating speed when a rotary torque of the DC motor is increased.

  • Publication number: 20090045624
Abstract: A fitting has a bite type tube connection structure with a bite type sleeve in cylindrical form. The bite type sleeve is formed of a primary deforming portion and a secondary deforming portion. The primary deforming portion bites into a connection tube 5 or is inserted between the fitting main body and the connection tube in a wedge-like fashion as a result of a first pressing force in the axial direction applied when a fastening nut is fastened. The secondary deforming portion is deformed by a second pressing force in the axial direction applied when the fastening nut is fastened and greater than the first pressing force. When the primary deforming portion bites into the connection tube, the connection tube is temporarily held against the fitting main body. Then, the fastening operation is completed by fastening the fastening nut.

  • Patent number: 7488009
Abstract: A joint includes a joint main body, a sleeve and a nut. The joint main body has a joining hole and an external threaded part. The nut is threaded onto the external threaded part in a threaded state in which the pipe and the sleeve are inserted through the joining hole. The nut joins the pipe to the joining hole via the sleeve. The sleeve is tightly fitted to the pipe and the joining hole by the threading of the nut to induce deformation that expands radially outward. The deformation prevents insertion of the sleeve into the joining hole to a specific position in an unthreaded state in which the pipe and the sleeve have been pulled out from the joining hole.

  • Publication number: 20090008930
Abstract: There is provided a pipe fitting in which loss of a sleeve is prevented, and the sealing performance of a joint portion is ensured while enhancing the workability at the time of connecting pipes. Also, a refrigerating apparatus and the like using the pipe fitting are provided. A sleeve (15) is provided integrally with a nut (14) before joining of a pipe, and cut off and separated from the nut (14) by screwing of the nut (14) into a fitting body. Moreover, an inner circumferential surface (15d) of the sleeve (15) is formed with a recess portion (15g). Thus, when the sleeve (15) bites into a pipe (12), deformation of a contact surface (15c) is induced so that a contact area A1 of a contact portion between the contact surface (15c) and a guide surface (13d) is increased by a pressing force from an inner surface (14c) of the nut (14).

  • Publication number: 20080035318
Abstract: An air conditioner comprises an outdoor heat exchanger having a plate fin whose surface is treated to have water-sliding properties and water repellency and a drain pan arranged under the outdoor heat exchanger. There is a gap throughout between the lower end portion of the outdoor heat exchanger and the upper surface of the drain pan. Water droplets condensed when the outdoor heat exchanger operates as an evaporator fall on the drain pan from the lower end portion of the plate fin. Since the plate fin and the drain pan are not in contact with each other, there is no such case that ice adheres to the contact portion and frost develops therefrom.
