  • Patent number: 4736734
Abstract: An endoscope having a light source unit, a light guide fiber for guiding illumination light from the light source unit to the distal end in the inserting section of the endoscope main body, an optical system provided in the distal end for guiding the illumination light transmitted via the light guide fiber to an object, and a solid-state image pickup element incorporated in the distal end. A lens of the optical system is supported by a frame movable along an optical axis thereof. The frame is moved along the optical axis by a wire operating device provided in a control section of the endoscope main body in order to vary the angle of view of the optical system, i.e., the illuminating angle of the illuminating light. The image obtained by the solid-state image pickup element is enlarged by an image enlargement processor in accordance with the angle of view of the optical system, and is displayed. The image enlargement processor has a first frame memory and a second frame memory.

  • Patent number: 4537453
Abstract: A connecting mechanism has a cylindrical socket mounted on a light source device, and a cylindrical member fitted to the outside of the socket. The member is engaged with a first type of connector to hold it when the connector is connected to the socket. A slide ring is arranged opposite to the cylindrical member to be movable between a normal position and an evacuating position. In a normal position, the slide ring is engaged with a second type of connector of an endoscope to hold it when the second type connector is connected the socket. When a third type of connector is to be connected to the socket, the slide ring is in contact with the third type of connector and moved from the normal position to the evacuating position by the third type connector, thereby allowing the third type connector to be connected to the socket.

Abstract: An endoscope sheath cleaning device comprises an upper plate, a hole formed in the upper plate to allow for the insertion of an endoscope sheath into the cleaning device, a nozzle head disposed under the hole, an endoscope sheath cleaning mechanism which includes brushes or spongy cleaning members and is set under the nozzle head, a rotation mechanism for the cleaning mechanism, a J-shaped or vertically straight endoscope sheath guiding tube, one end of which is set concentric with the endoscope sheath insertion hole, and a drain tube branched from the lowest part of the endoscope sheath guiding tube. An annular jet chamber is formed in the cylindrical nozzle head. The nozzle head is penetrated by a plurality of nozzles whose nozzle openings are projected into the jet chamber, and which are directed so as to cause a washing liquid to be ejected over the endoscope sheath cleaning mechanism. The endoscope sheath is repeatedly taken into and out of the guiding tube through the insertion hole.
