  • Patent number: 4659106
Abstract: Telescopic members which are expanded and contracted by means of a fluid pressure controlled by a steering mechanism are integrally connected to suspension springs. And when a vehicle makes a turn, the body is caused to decline toward the turning center side due to the telescopic movement of the telescopic members according to the steering operation. The fluid pressure may be fed from a hydraulic cylinder including a piston associated for movement with the steering mechanism. Alternatively, fluid pressurized by a pump may be fed through a controlling valve which is actuated in response to the steering mechanism. At a time when the vehicle makes a turn, a satisfactory steering sense similar to a motorcycle can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 4650213
Abstract: A steering member for reciprocating in the right and left direction relative to a vehicle body is connected with a tie rod. The steering member is engaged with a lean control member. The lean control member is mounted on the vehicle body for swinging in the right and left direction. The lean control member is mounted with an upper end of a suspension spring. When the steering member is reciprocated in the right and left direction, the lean control member is swung according to the reciprocation of the steering member. According to the foregoing swinging, the suspension spring pushes down or pulls up vehicle wheels relative to the vehicle body. As a result, the vehicle body is inclined toward the turning center side. In this way, a driver can enjoy the same steering sense as that of a motorcycle in an automobile or a motor tricycle.

  • Patent number: 4632413
Abstract: A suspension apparatus for a vehicle adapted to decline the body and/or the wheels toward the turning center side according to the steering operation when the vehicle makes a turn. In this suspension apparatus, the end portion of a suspension spring at the vehicle body side or the end portion of an upper arm at the vehicle body side are secured to a movable member associated with a steering operation member for movement. In the vehicle equipped with this suspension apparatus, driver can enjoy the similar steering sense or feeling as a motorcycle.

  • Patent number: 4606571
Abstract: An adjustable front windshield structure for an open-top vehicle, comprising a front structural member forming part of the vehicle body structure, a front windshield panel upstanding from and vertically movable with respect to the structural member, a pair of guide members fast on the front structural member and each having a vertically extending portion, slide members respectively engaging the guide members and each movable at least in part along the vertically extending portion of each guide member, and drive means operative to drive the slide members for movement along the guide members, respectively. The slide members are securely connected to the windshield panel, which is thus movable upwardly or downwardly with the slide members along the respective vertically extending portions of the guide members.

  • Patent number: 4138964
Abstract: An automobile service and inspection time indicating device wherein the members for performing the resetting operation are recessed from the surface of the outer plate of the meter case to avoid inadvertent operation of the resetting mechanism. The indicating elements can be positively seen during the daytime or at night.

  • Patent number: 3962986
Abstract: A set of display wheels are jointly driven from a conventional vehicle odometer so as to complete a revolution each time the vehicle travels a predetermined distance of, for example, 10,000 kilometers. Each display wheel has one or more warning zones on its circumference such that each warning zone, when turned to a display position for observation by the vehicle driver, indicates the fact that some particular part of the vehicle is in need of inspection or servicing. The display device further comprises means for automatically locking any one of the display wheels against rotation when the warning zone thereon turns to the display position, and means for unlocking and resetting the display wheel after the necessary inspection or servicing, as by the depression of a push button.
