Abstract: A process for producing an acrylic acid ester or a methacrylic acid ester having a benzoic acid group from a benzoic acid derivative having a hydroxyalkyl group in the presence of an acid catalyst without using an azeotropic solvent with water having a strong toxicity and also without using acrylic acid chloride which has a strong tearing property, is hard to be handled and generates a by-product in the reaction. In the above process, the solvent for the benzoic acid derivative consists essentially of (meth)acrylic acid.

Abstract: A silver halide color photographic material is disclosed, which material comprises a support and at least one silver halide photographic emulsion layer which contains a dispersion of fine lipophilic particles which particles are comprised of at least one type of oil solution non-color forming polymer and an oil soluble coupler which has been rendered fast to diffusion and which can form a dye by coupling with the oxidized form of a primary aromatic amine developing agent, wherein at least 20% by weight of said oil soluble non-color forming polymer has a molecular weight not more than 40,000.
