  • Patent number: 5486361
Abstract: Monoclonal antibodies which specifically bind to glycoprotein Ib are described. These antibodies completely inhibit the binding of thrombin to platelets, thereby totally inhibiting the activation of platelets by thrombin. The antibodies also completely inhibit platelet aggregation and also significantly inhibit adhesion of platelets to a subendothelial arterial surface in an ex vivo model system.

Date of Patent: January 23, 1996
Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Department of Health and Human Services
    Inventor: Harvey R. Gralnick
  • Patent number: 5366865
Abstract: A method for producing novel monoclonal antibodies against purified platelets are provided. A monoclonal antibodies which inhibits platelet reactions with collagen or collagenous surfaces is described. A new method of detecting and treating tumor metastatis is described.
