  • Patent number: 7869906
Abstract: A vehicle network gateway providing off board diagnostic and computer based devices with access to vehicle network data such as signal values and diagnostic error information. The gateway eliminating the deleterious effects of electrical loading on the vehicle network and the introduction of noise onto the vehicle network by off board devices. The gateway adapted to bridge data between the vehicle networks and a variety of external networks including conventional wireless and hardwired networks providing wireless access of vehicle diagnostic data over external networks at vehicle repair and service centers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 8, 2007
Date of Patent: January 11, 2011
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies
Inventors: Robert Louch, Donald Franks, Brian C. Moorhead, Hasdi R. Hashim
  • Publication number: 20100231169
Abstract: An automotive vehicle includes an electrical circuit capable of being electrically connected with an electrical grid, a propulsion electrical bus electrically connected with the circuit, a power conversion module electrically connected with the propulsion electrical bus, and a power storage unit electrically connected with the power conversion module.
    Type: Application
    Filed: March 16, 2009
    Publication date: September 16, 2010
    Applicant: FORD GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES, LLC
Inventors: Hasdi R. Hashim, Donald Charles Franks, Bruce Carvell Blakemore
  • Publication number: 20100206887
Abstract: A fuel storage system includes a storage vessel including a dielectric liner, a voltage sensor formed by a pair of plates disposed on opposing surfaces of the liner, and a controller configured to determine a gas pressure in the storage vessel based on voltages measured by the sensor.
    Type: Application
    Filed: February 19, 2009
    Publication date: August 19, 2010
    Applicant: FORD MOTOR COMPANY
Inventors: Hasdi R. Hashim, Shahid Ahmed Siddiqui
  • Publication number: 20100180983
Abstract: A fuel storage system includes a fuel tank, a fueling receptacle in fluid communication with the tank, and a coil adjacent the fueling receptacle. The system also includes a controller configured to determine information about a state of fuel in the tank, and to cause a modulated current to be driven into the coil to generate an electromagnetic field. The modulated current represents the information about the state of fuel in the tank.

    Publication date: July 22, 2010
    Applicant: FORD MOTOR COMPANY
Inventors: Hasdi R. Hashim, Shahid Ahmed Siddiqui
  • Patent number: 7586722
Abstract: A High Voltage Interlock Loop (HVIL) system and Control Strategy is provided for an alternative fuel vehicle including an electric, a hybrid electric, or a fuel cell vehicle. Generally, the HVIL system having associated logic including an HVIL circuit is provided to allow the vehicle to operate in either a high voltage (HV) or power mode powered by a power source or a HVIL interrupt mode based on an operational state of the HVIL system. When HVIL circuit fails shorted high, low or open, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is set and the Service Soon Lamp is illuminated to indicate to a service technician that additional safety precautions need to be taken when servicing the HV system. The HV contactors may or may not be activated providing HV to the vehicle when HV is not expected to be present at connectors and HV devices.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 18, 2007
Date of Patent: September 8, 2009
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Rich Allen Scholer, Brian D. Rutkowski, Hasdi R Hashim
