  • Patent number: 11424494
Abstract: An onboard-battery temperature controller to be disposed inside a vehicle, near a battery including a plurality of battery cells, is configured to control the temperature of the battery cells. The onboard-battery temperature controller includes a fluid heater, a heat generating body, and an arithmetic and control unit. The fluid heater is configured to heat the battery cells through heat exchange between a heating fluid circulating therein and the battery cells. The heat generating body is configured to be energized and generate heat, to be conducted to the battery cells to heat the battery cells. The arithmetic and control unit is configured to control operations of the fluid heater and the heat generating body on the basis of the temperature of the battery.

  • Publication number: 20220158268
Abstract: A battery pack includes a battery, a cooler, a battery temperature detector, a reservoir tank, a fluid pump and an arithmetic and control unit. A cooling fluid to exchange heat with the battery is to circulate through an interior of the cooler. The battery temperature detector is configured to detect a temperature of the battery. The reservoir tank is configured to store the cooling fluid. The fluid pump is installed in a path along which the cooling fluid is to circulate. Based on the detected temperature, the arithmetic and control unit is configured to, upon cooling the battery, operate the fluid pump to circulate the cooling fluid to exchange heat between the battery and the cooling fluid circulating in the cooler, and upon retaining heat of the battery, store at least part of the cooling fluid in the reservoir tank to reduce the cooling fluid in the interior of the cooler.

  • Patent number: 11318862
Abstract: A vehicle battery heating apparatus is to be mounted in a vehicle that travels with electricity from a battery. The apparatus includes a battery, a heater, a sensor, a controller, and a memory. The battery is mountable in the vehicle to allow the vehicle to travel. The heater heats the battery. The sensor obtains a temperature of the battery. The controller heats the battery with the heater. The memory stores heating target temperatures for respective remaining capacities of the battery. The controller obtains a remaining capacity of the battery, obtains a target temperature from the memory in accordance with the obtained remaining capacity, and sets a target temperature for heating the battery which is not on charge while the vehicle is stopped to the obtained target temperature. The heater heats the battery to the set target temperature.

  • Publication number: 20220111761
Abstract: A vehicle battery cooling apparatus configured to cool a battery mounted on a vehicle includes a first fluid circuit and a second fluid circuit. In the first fluid circuit, a first cooling fluid to cool the battery is to be circulated while the vehicle is traveling. In a second fluid circuit, a second cooling fluid to cool the battery is to be circulated while the battery is being charged. The first fluid circuit and the second fluid circuit are independent from each other.

  • Patent number: 10897067
Abstract: A cooling structure for a vehicle battery includes a battery module, a heat transfer sheet, a cooling water circulation pipe line, and a cooling-water storage chamber. In the battery module, battery cells are arranged in one direction. The heat transfer sheet is fixed to a lower surface of the battery module. The cooling water circulation pipe line faces the lower surface of the battery module with being in contact with the heat transfer sheet. The cooling-water storage chamber is of a non-circulation type and disposed below the battery module while in contact with a lower surface of the cooling water circulation pipe line.
