Patents by Inventor Hauke Maritz LIEFFERINK

Hauke Maritz LIEFFERINK has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 11112311
Abstract: The invention provides a press operator target for facilitating visual verification of colour accuracy in printed colour matter against an ideal colour proof. The invention also includes so-called Light/Master/Dark (“LMD”) standards for visually accessing colour variation that is acceptable in a particular print design and to aid a press operator in decision making in order to achieve a better proof to print match. Finally the aforementioned items are assembled into a colour proof assembly, which includes the press operator target, as well as the LMD standards.

  • Patent number: 10986251
Abstract: The invention provides a colour standard, assembled from a graphic digital input file, in which one or a combination of CMYK, RGB, Lab or spot colour builds are contained. The colour standard comprises a colour target calibration strip which is indicative of the calibration status of a printing press; an output image which is indicative of the digital input file; and a grid chart of spot colour builds, built-in process inks, with their respective process build values available for each spot colour in the digital input file. The colour standard is configured to capture the calibrated state of the press for a particular digital input file in order to achieve a particular colour-managed output image, so that product print runs of the output image can be repeated accurately and consistently over time.

  • Patent number: 10306107
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of colour separation and printing full colour images, directly onto a substrate, in such a way that no ink trapping or the use of semi-transparent or transparent inks is required, and without requiring ink drying between ink stations. In particular, the method provides the steps of using non-transparent, semi-transparent, or transparent inks; half-toning (i.e. screening) separated CMYK digital image files to 1-bit files; creating additional ink colour channels from the 1-bit CMYK separated files; and performing removal of trapped or inked areas that will be overprinted, utilising the 1 bit files.
