  • Patent number: 10180491
Abstract: An object detection device mounted on a vehicle includes a transmitter, a receiver, a measurement unit, and a determination unit. The transmitter intermittently transmits a signal wave to space around the vehicle. The receiver receives a reflected wave from an object. The measurement unit measures a distance to the object based on the reflected wave received by the receiver. The determination unit determines that the object is abnormally close to the vehicle if the distance measured by the measurement unit is within a determination distance range, counts the number of determinations that the object is abnormally close to the vehicle, and determines that at least one of the transmitter or the receiver malfunctions if the number of determinations reaches a threshold.

  • Patent number: 9678207
Abstract: An object detection device includes a controller, a first sensor, and a second sensor. The first sensor transmits a first energy wave, and the second sensor transmits a second energy wave. The first sensor receives a reflected wave of the first energy wave to convert the reflected wave into a first self-signal, and receives a reflected wave of the second energy wave to convert the reflected wave into a first correspondence signal. The second sensor receives the reflected wave of the second energy wave to convert the reflected wave into a second self-signal, and receives the reflected wave of the first energy wave to convert the reflected wave into a second correspondence signal.

  • Publication number: 20160356883
Abstract: An object detection apparatus of the present invention has a wave transmitter that transmits energy waves (ultrasound waves) to a detection target region. The object detection apparatus also has a wave receiver that receives the energy waves reflected from an object existing in the detection target region and converts the received energy waves to wave reception signals made of electric signals. The object detection apparatus further has a controller that controls the wave transmitter to continuously transmit the energy waves during a predetermined wave transmission period, and a measurement part that measures a distance from the object detection apparatus to the object based on the wave reception signals output from the wave receiver. The controller is configured so as to change the wave transmission period corresponding to the distance measured by the measurement part.

  • Publication number: 20160209509
Abstract: The vehicle-dedicated object detection device of one aspect according to the present invention includes a wave transceiver and a controller. The controller includes a transmitter, a receiver, a detector, a setter for setting a detection start time, and a determiner. The determiner determines whether the wave transceiver is dirty, based on an amplitude of the received-wave signal in a first time period from a time of starting transmission of an ultrasonic wave to the detection start time. The detector calculates a distance from the wave transceiver to an object when it is determined that the wave transceiver is not dirty and when a current time passes the detection start time.
