Abstract: A virtual machine manager that provisions of virtual machines on hosts that share a tenant store. Virtual machines can be provisioned using an arraying subsystem of the tenant store without having to actually physically copy all of the operating system files for each virtual machine. Instead, the arraying subsystem virtually copies the operating system files by generating virtual operating system containers that point to a master operating system container that actually contains operating system content in the tenant store. To increase the limit on the number of virtual operating system containers that can be virtually copied from a master operating system container, the master operating system container may itself by physically, rather than virtually copied. Then, virtual operating system containers may be virtually copied from any of the master operating system containers that contain the same operating system content.

Abstract: Automatically provisioning computing resources based on events occurring in the computer network. The system manager defines resource configurations for computing resources in a network computing environment. The resource configurations are associated with event conditions. The event conditions cause the system manager to apply the resource configurations to the computing resources. The event conditions are also associated with various policies. The policies specify how the resource configurations are to be applied to the computing resources. The occurrence of the event conditions is ascertained. In response, workflows are automatically executed. The workflows apply the resource configurations to the computing resources in accordance with the policies. This configures the computing resources according to the resource configurations.

Abstract: A method and apparatus of arbitrating network resource allocation request to reallocate Packet-Switched (PC) dedicated territory as circuit-switched (CS) territory usable for CS connections within a telecommunications network. The extent of any guaranteed bit-rate (GBR) connections within the requested reallocation region of the packet-switched (PS) dedicated territory is determined. Where possible, GBR connections are reallocated within the PS dedicated territory to outside the requested reallocation region. In the event some or all of the requested reallocation region adjacent CS territory is free, it is reallocated as CS territory.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method for reducing data congestion in a communication system comprising the steps of identifying a portion of said communication system in which data is congested, selecting one of a plurality of transceiver stations (101, 101?) each having a respective service area in which a mobile station (100) is located, and transferring data between said mobile station (100) and a target node via said selected transceiver station thereby reducing data throughput in said congested portion of the communication system.
