Abstract: A method and system for generating data in a mobile device is provided. The method includes, outputting an image, stored in the mobile device, to an external screen, capturing the external screen on which the image is being displayed and creating a captured image, comparing the output image with the captured image and extracting an added image from the captured image, and creating data from the extracted image. When the mobile device user writes or draws on an external screen on which the mobile device outputs an image, the mobile device can capture the external screen, create data from the user's input content and store them in the storage unit.

Abstract: An interaction method and apparatus for an electronic device is proposed for providing the user with interactive audio/video/haptic effects. An interaction method for an electronic device according to the present invention includes outputting an event object in response to an input action to an event element; detecting a user interaction to the event object; and outputting an effect object in response to the user interaction.

Abstract: Virtual object based image processing method and apparatus are provided. At least one virtual object is selected and applied to the underlying image such as a preview image obtained by a camera in order to create a merged image. The selected virtual object has a modification attribute allowing parts of the underlying image to be modified. A user can easily obtain various merged images decorated with the modification attributes of the selected virtual object by checking in advance merged images overlapped with the virtual object before saving them.

Abstract: A method for activating user functions by types of input signals and a portable terminal adapted to the method are disclosed. The input means of the portable terminal generate various types of input signals. The portable terminal activates and controls particular user functions according to corresponding input signals. In a multi-tasking situation where a plurality of user functions are simultaneously used, the portable terminal can activate and control the user functions according to the particular types of input signals.

Abstract: A method for a gesture-based function control for an electronic device having a touch-based input interface such as a touch screen is provided. While a selected mode is performed, a gesture launcher mode is activated in response to a user's request through a special function key or a multi-touch interaction. When receiving a user's gestural input in the gesture launcher mode, the electronic device executes a particular function corresponding to the user's gestural input.

The device includes an output area for displaying various types of screen data corresponding to execution applications, a control area for providing a graphical user interface (GUI) for controlling a function of the device, and a control unit for detecting execution of a particular application, configuring a screen comprising the output area and the control area in response to the executed application, and controlling a function of the device according to a user interaction occurring through the GUI in the control area.

Abstract: The present invention relates to apparatus and method for road guidance using a mobile terminal. The method for road guidance using a mobile terminal includes receiving a map image created by a users input, setting at least one user-designated location to the map image according to the users input, setting location information of the user-designated location to the user-designated location, comparing the location information of the user-designated location with current location information of the mobile terminal; and notifying of arrival at the user-designated location. A user may arrive at a desired destination according to the present invention without using map data provided by a map data service provider.

Abstract: A method of sharing information between mobile terminals using a local wireless communication network is disclosed. The method includes setting information stored in a first mobile terminal with one of at least two security levels; if registration is requested by a second mobile terminal, registering an identifier of the second mobile terminal and an access rights level of the second mobile terminal to the information set with a security level; if a local wireless communication link is formed with the second mobile terminal, displaying a list of information set with a set security level corresponding to the access rights level of the second mobile terminal; and sharing the displayed information according to a request from the second mobile terminal. According to the present invention, information stored in a mobile terminal may safely be shared with another mobile terminal in a local wireless communication area.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus f preventing transmitting message input error in a mobile communication terminal are provided. When another event is generated while the transmitting message is being inputted, character input keys are inactivated and an event window is displayed. It is checked whether an ENTER key is pressed while the event window is displayed. If the ENTER key is pressed, the event window and an icon notifying generation of the event are closed. Accordingly, a user of the mobile communication terminal can recognize the generation of the event and prevent transmitting message input error after identifying the generated event.
