  • Patent number: 9511756
Abstract: A method is described for protecting a parking assistance system from a failure of the service brake system. In order to prevent a collision of the vehicle with a surrounding object, the function of the service brake system is monitored and if an error is present, at least one other vehicle system, such as an automatic transmission or an automatic parking brake, is activated in order to brake the vehicle and/or interrupt the transmission of drive torque to the wheels.

  • Patent number: 8585157
Abstract: To achieve a specifiable, and thus reproducible final pressure in at least one part of the brake circuit, the pump is first actuated for pressure buildup or pressure reduction when the valve is closed. When a first specified setpoint pressure is reached, or when a pressure threshold value is exceeded, the valve is put into an open position using a first actuation. After the pump is switched off, the actuation of the valve is modified in such a way that, during a specifiable time, a continuous change of the first actuation is undertaken all the way up to a second actuation, in which the valve assumes a holding position, particularly while taking into consideration the pressure difference which prevails at the valve.

  • Patent number: 7542837
Abstract: A method for determining the moment of activation of an automatic hold function in vehicles. The optimum moment of activation may be determined precisely if the present vehicle speed is measured by wheel speed sensors, a future vehicle speed is calculated and the hold function is activated when the calculated future vehicle speed is lower than a predefined speed threshold.

  • Publication number: 20060279136
Abstract: An electrically triggered parking brake system for motor vehicles includes an operating element for actuating the parking brake system and at least one control unit which triggers an actuator of the parking brake system in response to actuation of the operating element. A configuration of the parking brake system includes one control unit which is arranged such that it is able to trigger both an actuator for actuating a wheel brake and an actuator for arresting the wheel brake.

  • Publication number: 20050006947
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for actuating an external-force parking brake system of a hydraulic vehicle brake system that has a hydraulic pump. For actuating the parking brake system by external-force, the invention proposes pumping brake fluid with the hydraulic pump out of a wheel brake, by opening an outlet valve, into a wheel brake, which has a locking device for locking in the actuated state. A switchover valve is preferably closed, to avoid feedback effects on a master cylinder.

  • Publication number: 20050001473
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for actuating an external-force brake system of a hydraulic vehicle brake system. Upon actuation of the master cylinder, the invention proposes causing a wheel brake to communicate with a hydraulic reservoir by opening an associated outlet valve, and pumping the outflowing brake fluid with a hydraulic pump to a wheel brake that has a locking device. A switchover valve is closed in the process, and as a result the master cylinder is hydraulically disconnected from the vehicle brake system.

  • Publication number: 20040026990
Abstract: A method and a device are described for controlling the brake pressure acting on a wheel brake in a braking system having a pressure generation device for generating a setpoint pressure (Pset) preset by a regulation, an intake valve for admitting a brake fluid into the wheel brake, and a pressure-limiting valve for limiting the brake pressure to a selectable threshold value. To improve the braking response of the wheel brake, it is suggested that the threshold value be set at the pressure-limiting valve as a function of the pressure buildup gradient.
