  • Patent number: 5303826
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for separating of different plastic products, which plastic products are comminuted, purified, and dried in a conventional way. The dry particles are fed to a heated, movable support base. Plastic particles, having a lower softening point, adhere to the support base, and particles having, a higher softening point, flow freely over the particles adhering to the moving support base and can be separated. After separation of these particles, the adhering particles are scraped from the steel belt.

  • Patent number: 4106518
Abstract: An apparatus for continuously cleaning grossly soiled products of plastic material, such as sheets, bands, sacks or the like and for preparing the material for subsequent re-use, comprising an elongated container having at least one downwardly extended funnel-shaped portion closed by a valve, means for feeding soiled comminuted plastic material in the region of one end wall into the container in which a bath of washing solution is maintained, a partition adjacent the other end wall extending into the bath and dividing the interior of the container into a washing zone and a discharge zone, communicating with each other adjacent the bottom of the container, means for agitating the working solution and the comminuted plastic material in the washing zone, and a sieve conveyor for removing the comminuted and cleaned plastic material from the discharge zone.

  • Patent number: 4081382
Abstract: An apparatus for separating particulate solids from liquids includes a blower which is mounted for rotation between two upright walls. A sieve surrounds the rotor with a spacing therefrom and a solid-liquid mixture to be separated is introduced onto a portion of the sieve. The flow of gaseous medium advanced by the blower is directed onto the sieve by an elongated curved guide element having one end close to the portion of the sieve, another end close to the blower in the region of the first-mentioned end, and a curved portion extending from the one to the other end around the blower opposite to the direction of rotation of the blower at a decreasing distance from the latter. The guide element bounds with the sieve a passage the flow-through cross section of which decreases in the direction of advancement of the gaseous medium which thus partly propagates along the passage and partly escapes therefrom through the sieve and thus entrains and expels the liquid from the mixture through the sieve.

  • Patent number: 4073661
Abstract: A continuous process for cleaning and preparing grossly soiled products of plastic material, such as sheets, bands, sacks or the like for subsequent re-use, in which the plastic material is comminuted after removing rough foreign objects therefrom, whereafter the comminuted plastic material is fed into a washing solution having a greater specific weight than the plastic material and subjected together with the washing solution in a washing zone to turbulence, transferred to a turbulence-free zone containing washing solution by passage under a submerged edge of a partition submerged in the washing solution and separating the washing zone from the turbulence--free zone, and thereafter subjected first to mechanical and then to a thermal drying operation.
