Abstract: The invention relates to an electrically driven oscillating compressor, in particular for use as refrigerating machine, comprising a piston compressor, an electric oscillating drive for directly driving the piston compressor and a pulse shaper for supplying energy to the electric oscillating drive, wherein the group consisting of the compressor piston which is resiliently held in a central initial position, the other oscillating masses, the gas spring rate and the electric components of the oscillating drive form an electro-mechanical oscillating system whose natural frequency is at least approximately equal to the frequency of the current energizing the oscillating drive.

Abstract: The invention relates to an oscillating electrodynamic compressor having an electromagnetic drive which maintains a radial magnetic field in an annular gap in which a coil is arranged for axial contactless movement. The coil is mounted on a plunger guided inside a bore of a cylinder member forming the compressor. The plunger and coil unit is held in position by a pair of vibrating springs so as to provide a resilient support bearing on the one hand on the magnet drive and on the compressor on the other hand. The springs overlap the cylinder so that the planes in which the springs bear against the plunger and coil unit intersect the cylinder bore guide for the plunger even during the stroke of the plunger.
