  • Patent number: 6434712
Abstract: A circuit arrangement for the fault tolerant execution of digital computer programs includes a plurality of arithmetic logic units embodied as processor pool elements connected together so that they can each execute the program in parallel. The processor elements are connected to each other through respective data, clock and reset cross-strapping interconnect lines, and are each connected to one or more serial field buses. Each processor element includes at least one microprocessor controller for controlling the functions of the processor element in such a manner that any selected number of the processor elements can be automatically actuated at any time to simultaneously execute the program in parallel and thereby achieve a prescribed degree of redundancy in the circuit arrangement.

  • Patent number: 5422139
Abstract: A method for a reactive surface treatment of a workpiece, according to which a treatment gas is let out of at least one infeed opening into a treatment chamber and is drawn off said treatment chamber through at least one draw off opening, which openings are arranged adjacent of each other over and across the area to the surface to be treated and feature axes of the openings which extend at least approximately perpendicularly to the surface to be treated. The treatment chamber further includes a support for positioning of the workpiece in such a manner that at least one infeed opening which is connected to a gas delivery device for a treatment gas and at least one draw off opening which is connected to a gas draw off device are located opposite the surface of the positioned workpiece.

  • Patent number: 5017073
Abstract: A lock chamber for conveying a workpiece from one medium (U.sub.0) into another medium (U.sub.7) which comprises a lever (11) acting as a transport system and pivotably mounted in the chamber on one side. With lock gates (5a, 5b) moves aside the lever (11) can swing out by a required degree into the respective media (U.sub.7, U.sub.0). With the design of the transport system as unilaterally mounted levers (11), the volume of the lock chamber is largely independent of the trajectory of the lever and the volume can be minimized (FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 4717293
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for the chamfering of the axially facing ends of toothed cylindrical or conical workpieces in which a cutting tool arranged on a rocking lever is moved back and forth in response to the peripheral speed of the workpiece which constantly rotates about its axis. The cutting edge of the tool acts chip-removingly during each stroke that is directed onto or toward the axially facing surface of each tooth of the workpiece. The cutting edge moves along a circular segment path, the axis of which extends at least approximately parallel to a radial of the workpiece, which radial starts out from the workpiece axis and extends through the tooth which is to be worked or machined.

  • Patent number: 4575289
Abstract: An apparatus for orienting the position of a machine tool carriage relative to a stationary machine part, which machine tool carriage is movable in a plane defined by orthogonally related X and Y axes. In a first embodiment, the carriage is freely movable on a holder parallel with respect to the X axis and the holder is arranged freely movably in the stationary machine part parallel with respect to the Y axis. In a different embodiment, two pairs of steering knuckle arms are provided and which are arranged symmetrically with respect to the carriage. Each pair of arms consists of two hingedly connected steering knuckle arms which define a right angle with one of each thereof being hinged to the carriage, the other one to the stationary machine part. Two modifications are described for the design of the joints. The apparatus can be used, for example in machines for the precision working of gears.

  • Patent number: 4545708
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for shaving, rolling or similar ones of the tooth flanks of gears in which a gearlike workpiece which is to be worked is supported stationarily, however, rotatingly and is in a two flank meshing engagement with a toothlike tool. The tool carries out a rectilinear back-and-forth feed movement in a plane, which is parallel with respect to the workpiece axis, a plunge movement perpendicularly with respect to the workpiece axis and a swivelling movement about an axis which is directed transversely with respect to the feed direction. To produce crowned tooth flanks, the plunge feed and the swivelling movement of the tool is changed independently from one another in dependency of the respective position of the tool along the feed path. A rocking device is provided on which is arranged the tool and which also takes part in the back-and-forth feed movement and which furthermore can be driven pivotally about an axis which extends transversely with respect to the feed direction.

  • Patent number: 4502822
Abstract: A machine for the precision working of tooth surfaces on toothed workpieces. The machine has a frame, a rotatingly drivable gearlike tool which is arranged substantially above the workpiece on the frame and structure supporting the tool for movement into a tooth engaging relation with the workpiece. Structure is also provided for adjusting a crossed-axes angle between the tool and the workpiece. Guide structure is provided for effecting a change in the spacing between the geometric centers of the tool and the workpiece during a machining operation. The workpiece is stationarily mounted on the frame and all guideways on the frame required for facilitating an adjustment of the tool and during the working operation are arranged substantially above the workpiece. Additional structure is provided for facilitating an adjustment of the axis of rotation of the tool about both horizontal and vertical axes.

  • Patent number: 4359301
Abstract: A machine for precision working, for example shaving, of the tooth flanks of a toothed workpiece supported rotatably on a machine frame. A tool carrier carries a multi-toothed tool, for example a shaving cutter, and is supported substantially above the workpiece for rotative adjustment of the crossing of the axes of the workpiece and tool, about an axis perpendicular to the workpiece axis. The tool carrier is guided movably in a guide carrier and is driven for longitudinal feeding of the tool. The guide carrier is suspended swingably about a horizontal axis for spherical or conical tooth working. The guide carrier is supported pendantly from a swivel plate which is swingable and lockable about an axis perpendicular to the workpiece axis for adjusting the feed direction. The tool carrier is guided by a guide arm which is adjustable in its inclination and is securable by a pivot member on the swivel plate.
