    Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to auditory nerve stimulation to create the perception of sound in the brain of a subject such as an animal or human being. In one form, a system includes an implantable electrode array including a plurality of spaced apart micro-needles. The system also includes a first electrical lead electrically coupled to and extending from the implantable electrode array, and an auditory signal device configured to produce one or more electrical signals representative of communications received from an external processor. An interposer is configured to electrically couple the implantable electrode array and the auditory signal device in an arrangement where one or more electrical signals produced by the auditory signal device may be transmitted through the first electrical lead to the implantable electrode array. Various novel stimulation strategies can be employed, such as place modulated stimulation signals.

    Abstract: A method for training a machine-learning module of a computer-implemented prediction model for predicting product quality parameter values for one or more quality parameters of a chemical product produced by a chemical production plant. The production plant includes a plurality of sensors, each of which is configured to acquire process parameter values for one or more process parameters of a chemical process carried out by the production plant for producing the chemical product during operation of the production plant. A priori information about the production plant and the process carried out by the production plant is used, including chronological sequence information about a chronological sequence of the process carried out within the production plant, for which sensors sensor-specific time shifts between an acquisition time of training process parameter values and a production time of a product unit, during the production of which the corresponding training process parameter value was acquired.

    Abstract: The security tag (10) has a housing (11) and a clasp (12), which can move longitudinally therein, in the manner of a padlock. In its closed position, a piston (20), which is prestressed by a spring (21), engages into a gap or interruption (15) in the clasp (12). In order to open the clasp (12), a reduced-pressure source, which raises the piston (20), is placed onto a projection (28), so that the said piston releases the clasp (12). The use of a reduced-pressure source exacerbates the unauthorized opening of the security tag.

    Abstract: A holder (10) exhibits a frame-like housing (11) having a base (12) for receiving a CD case (14). This case is inserted in the arrow directions (15, 16, 17). A closing element (13) is then pressed down in the arrow direction (18), whereupon it snaps in place. The CD case (14) is held by retaining wall parts (24, 25) disposed on the otherwise open housing-topside. For opening, a device having a vacuum source has to be attached to a connecting socket (28) in order for the closing element (13) to be re-released. The holder (10) is equipped with a signalling means, which, upon the passage of a contactless-working electronic barrier, triggers a signal if the holder containing the CD case were to be stolen.
