  • Patent number: 6070700
Abstract: An operating system placed on the cabin door is shown with a continuous line in rest position and with a dotted line in working position. An arrow marked with a (Y) indicates a horizontal movement undertaken by the operating system in the Y-direction and an arrow marked by (X) indicates a horizontal movement undertaken by the operating system in the X-direction. The X/Y movement of the operating system is produced by an actuator and motive mechanics. On a shaft door is placed an operating cam upon which the operating system rests. Operating system sensors measure the distance to the shaft door and the operating cam. An electromagnet of the operating system produces the necessary force for coupling of cabin door to shaft door.

  • Patent number: 5648644
Abstract: An elevator brake regulating apparatus includes brake actuators, a source of pressured fluid and a brake regulating control connected between the actuators and the fluid source. A fastening housing is attached to a carrier frame of a elevator car and has recesses for retaining guides of a brake shoe with elastic pads to provide vertical displacement of the guides under braking. The brake shoe has brake pads for engaging running surfaces of a guide rail. A brake sensor in each brake pad monitors the condition of the brake pad and signals the control to apply pressured fluid to actuate the corresponding brake actuator. Other sensors for speed, acceleration and retardation of the elevator car are connected to the control for selectively applied the pressured fluid to regulate the braking force on the elevator car.

  • Patent number: 5443140
Abstract: An apparatus for reducing the driving power required for an hydraulic elevator in which the elevator car is suspended in the shaft by a cable connected with a piston rod of an hydraulic piston-cylinder drive providing two units of distance of car travel for each unit of distance of piston movement. A counterweight is connected to the head end of the piston rod for travel equal in distance and opposite in direction to the car travel. The counterweight is selected to balance the weight of the car and the most frequently occurring car load. A pump supplies pressured fluid to the cylinder of the drive and, during upward travel of the elevator car, a control system provides a differential circulation of the fluid whereby a smaller fluid volume can be used for the dimensioning of the pump.

  • Patent number: 5373121
Abstract: A drive system for an hydraulic elevator operated at a constant output power for any load during elevator car travel in the upward direction. The maximum nominal speed in the upward direction is selected for a load which typically occurs most frequently and the drive is designed accordingly. The car speed is reduced correspondingly for higher loads and increased correspondingly for lower loads. The variable car speed is achieved either through the use of an adjustable pump of variable displacement volume controlled by a pressure regulating valve or through the use of a positive displacement pump of constant displacement volume which is driven by a frequency regulated electrical motor.
