  • Patent number: 5322096
Abstract: A filling device for bulk materials includes a filling hopper, a housing surrounding an open end of the filling hopper and two hopper outlet doors which are pivoted in the the housing. In order to achieve the object of further developing the filling hopper so as to enable loss-free operation to take place, the filling hopper or, respectively, a casing surrounding the same has an external encircling section. Furthermore rubber sealing strips are provided on the hopper outlet doors, which come into sealing engagement with the encircling section when the hopper outlet doors are moved by a control system into the open position thereof.

  • Patent number: 4873815
Abstract: An apparatus for filling and closing sacks has a pair of grippers for gripping the lateral portions of the sacks adjacent to their opening-defining edges, the grippers of each pair are movable toward and away from each other, also a pair of suction cups for pulling the side walls of the sacks apart adjacent to the opening-defining edges between the grippers, a filling pipe, which is adapted to be lowered into and to be lifted out of the opened sacks, and a welding device for forming a transverse seam weld to close the opening-defining edges when they have been pulled taut by a movement of the grippers away from each other.

  • Patent number: 4756142
Abstract: Apparatus for closing filled sacks, which have been transferred from a filling station to a take-over station and a closing station by a conveyor comprising a gripper, which like pliers grips the flattened lips of the filled sacks. A pair of gripping rollers, which are rotatable about axes which are at right angles to the main axis of the sack, take-over the sacks at the take-over station with the lips protruding. The apparatus also comprises a welding or sewing machine to act on the protruding lips to form a seam for closing the filled sacks. At least one of the gripping rollers is rotated as the filled sacks are conveyed to the closing machine to force the lips to protrude sufficiently to facilitate making the closing seam.

  • Patent number: 4563864
Abstract: In a sack filling machine, pivotable flaps are in a V formation when in a sack-receiving position and they are provided with means for clamping the mouth of each sack to be filled. In the receiving position, one of the flaps completely covers the outlet of a filling tube by sealingly abutting a bevelled edge on the tube.

  • Patent number: 4537013
Abstract: Bag-filling apparatus comprises gripping means for gripping flat bags adjacent to their top edges and side edges, vacuum cups for engaging the bag on opposite sides near its top edges and for pulling said top edges apart, and a filling pipe, which is provided with filling hopper halves, which are adapted to be pivotally movable about parallel axes by drive means. The filling hopper halves are hinged on respective axes which are transverse to the line which connects the grippers and the spreading members of the filling hopper halves have in cross-section laterally inverted, outwardly protruding or convex shapes the apices of which are disposed on the line which connects the grippers. The arrangement may be such that the end edges and side walls of the filling hopper halves are in sealing contact with each other when the filling hopper halves are in their swung-in position.
