Abstract: Hinge-lid boxes for cigarettes, comprising a box part (12) and lid (13), are frequently fitted with a closure aid for the lid (13). Said closure aid comprises interlocking elements which can be brought into engagement with one another, namely a lid inner tab (16), on the one hand, and a collar front wall (17), on the other hand. In order to ensure operativeness as soon as the pack is used, it is ensured that the closure aid is already in engagement when the pack is completed, i.e. before it is used for the first time. For this purpose, the lid (13) is partially opened after being substantially completed and is then moved into the closed position again thereby ensuring engagement of the closing elements.
