  • Patent number: 6428514
Abstract: device for administering liquids comprises an administering part (10) and an adhesive plaster (11). The administering part (10) is connected with a cannula stud (30) and an administering line (14) and carries a liquid. For fastening the administering part (10) to the surface of a patient's skin or the surface of an object the adhesive plaster (11) is stuck on the surface. The adhesive plaster (11) is provided with a plug-in pin (38) which is adapted to be inserted into an insertion opening (43) of the filter (10). By placing the filter (10) onto the plug-in pin (38) the administering part (10) is detachably connected with the adhesive plaster (11). If the administering part (10) is a filter with transparent housing the filter membrane is well visible since the latter is not covered by adhesive strips when the filter is fastened to the patient's body.

  • Patent number: 6347711
Abstract: A filter for medical fluids comprises a hydrophilic membrane (18) dividing the filter into an inlet chamber (20) and an outlet chamber (22). This prevents air from penetrating the outlet chamber (22). The air retained in the inlet chamber (20) is discharged through vent holes (30, 32). Each vent hole (30, 32) is covered with a hydrophobic membrane (34, 36). According to the invention one of the vent holes (30) is provided in a front wall (38) opposite the hydrophilic membrane (18). The other vent hole (32) is provided in a rear wall (46) located opposite the front wall (38) so that the two vent holes (30, 32) point in opposite directions. Owing to this arrangement of the two vent holes (30, 32) one vent hole (30, 32) points upwards irrespective of the filter position. This improves venting of the inlet chamber (20).

  • Patent number: 4877258
Abstract: A fold bellows for rotating drive joints is proposed which, although it is equipped with a plurality of folds along its length, admits large bend angles without the flanks of its folds having mutual contract for a physical bellows dimensioning which corresponds approximately to a dimensioning of known fold bellows. For this purpose the fold bellows is equipped with a joint side fold of larger diameter, with a shaft side fold of smaller diameter and with at least one further fold which is provided at an axial interval from the two other folds and is smaller than the shaft side fold in diameter.

  • Patent number: 4617003
Abstract: A clutch assembly capable of providing several predetermined settings, wherein the components which support springs applying torque are not subjected to bending loads. The settings are achieved in that a supporting ring supporting a pressure plate against a clutch housing is provided with radially outwardly extending cams which are offset relative to the center thereof with two rows of apertures being provided in a cylindrical face of the clutch housing which are axially offset and offset relative to the angle of rotation and which correspond to the cams of the supporting ring and within which the cams are engaged.

  • Patent number: 4603998
Abstract: A shaft connecting mechanism is provided between a slip-on hub and a power takeoff shaft by means of a control ring which extends around the slip-on hub and which is formed to have a pressure screw extend through a threaded bore therein, the pressure screw engaging against a clamping wedge in the slip-on hub which is formed with a trapezoidal configuration generally conforming with the configuration of an axiallly extending groove formed in the slip-on hub. Blocking members are arranged in radial apertures in the slip-on hub and pockets are formed in the control ring. The pressure screw when angularly aligned with the clamping wedge, places the control ring in the locked position and when the pressure screw and the clamping wedge are angularly unaligned, the blocking members enter the pockets in the control ring.

  • Patent number: 4444650
Abstract: Disclosed is a continuous or discontinuous process for coking high-boiling aromatic hydrocarbons to form high grade carbon products having only a narrow range of variation of physical and chemical properties. High-boiling aromatic hydrocarbon mixtures are coked in thin layers according to a defined temperature/time program, and the functional relationship between layer thickness and optimum coking time, which applies to that program for the particular hydrocarbon mixture used, is determined by means of a simple preliminary experiment. A small quantity of the hydrocarbon mixture used is coked on a microscope hot stage under standardized conditions to determine the minimum coking temperature, the time to the final coking temperature and the dependence of coking time on the layer thickness.

  • Patent number: 4354814
Abstract: In an extruder with a wide extrusion head and an associated calender, the wide extrusion head defining a sheet extrusion die 16 has an upper extrusion head, part 12 and a lower extrusion head part, which parts can be moved away from one another. At least one clamping device is provided which releasably presses the upper extrusion head part and the lower extrusion head part together and which is mounted in an associated side wall of the calender and is provided with a hydraulically operable piston cylinder drive. In order to achieve optimum clamping of the upper extrusion head part 12 and the lower extrusion head part, each clamping device has a tie rod which, on its one side bears against the lower extrusion head part or the upper extrusion part by means of a fixed abutment, e.g. a nut, or by means of an axially variable abutment e.g. a thrust box 51, which can be driven by a drive nut, the clamping device being mounted on the side wall to be freely movable in the upward and horizontal directions.
