  • Patent number: 4366543
Abstract: For the out-of-round shaping of workpieces, subsequent to the circumferential machining of a first workpiece or workpiece stack, the actual contour thereof is traced, then compared with the predetermined desired contour and the obtained deviations between the desired contour and actual contour are used for the correction of the desired contour for further machining.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 30, 1980
Date of Patent: December 28, 1982
    Assignee: Goetze AG
Inventors: Otto Feller, Heinz Oepen, Jochen Stechow
  • Patent number: 4314492
Abstract: An apparatus for the out-of-round circumferential machining of workpieces includes a tool holder, a tool bit carried by the tool holder and a motor having a rotor operatively coupled to the tool holder for a radial feed of the tool bit. The motor can be numerically and electronically controlled dependent upon a desired out-of-round contour of the workpieces. The moment of inertia of the tool holder, the tool bit and any other component moving with the tool holder as a unit during feed motion is at the most equal to the moment of inertia of the rotor.
    Type: Grant
