  • Patent number: 7862875
Abstract: To achieve proper lubrication, a bearing housing or reservoir is filled with a predetermined amount of lubricant. When the machine, of which a bearing is a component, is operated, a flexible flinger disc provides proper lubrication by disturbance of the lubricant.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 4, 2011
    Assignee: Trico Corporation
Inventors: Heinz P. Bloch, Rojean Thomas, Daniel Freeland, Jeffrey T Malinowski
  • Patent number: 5161804
Abstract: A magnetic seal for rotating shafts having a first and second annular members. Each of the annular members having a source of magnetic force with the lines of magnetic force being axially aligned with the shaft. A stationary insert positioned in said housing and having a sealing face adjacent the annular members. The first and second annular rings being rotatively connected with the second ring being sealed to the shaft and a face related to the second member for sealing contact with the face of the insert. The first of the rings secured to the shaft for annular rotation.

  • Patent number: 4102052
Abstract: An indicator for use in monitoring and determining axial deflection or positioning of a coupling, e.g., of the flexible diaphragm type, wherein a pair of suitably configured indicia such as stepped edge decals are located on opposite ends of the coupling torque tube or spacing member adjacent each coupling hub. Initially each coupling guard ring covers a portion of the indicia, while leaving the remainder exposed. This is indicative of the normal nondeflected position of the diaphragm or similar flexible coupling component. As the shaft rotates, a stroboscope is employed to flash a light frequency corresponding to the rotational speed of the shaft and in the event there is axial misalignment the indicia will appear to deviate from their normal nondeflected position such that more or less of the indicia will be seen as the torque tube or spacing member is observed with the strobe light applied to it.

  • Patent number: 3977972
Abstract: Seal oil contaminated with H.sub.2 S has air or N.sub.2 bubbled therethrough for reducing the H.sub.2 S content of the liquid. The bubbling of the gas through the contaminated liquid is achieved by way of a novel two-state sparger unit situated in a container which receives the contaminated liquid, this container being vented at an upper portion to the outer atmosphere and being connected with a pipe which withdraws decontaminated liquid from the container.
