  • Patent number: 5406190
Abstract: A device for generating electrical energy includes at least one a.c. generator which is coupled to a turbine driven by a flowing medium and is connected via capacitive elements to a rectifier with impressed output voltage. The capacitive elements are rated or are able to be controlled in relationship to the inductances existing in the generator electric circuit in a way that allows the resonant frequency of the oscillating circuit made up of the capacitive elements and the inductors to lie above the highest frequency that occurs under field conditions.

  • Patent number: 4704571
Abstract: An arrangement for recovering power loss of an internal combustion engine including a turbine, the driving power of which stems from a power loss of the internal combustion engine. The turbine is coupled to a generator, a winding of which feeds a d-c motor relieving the internal combustion engine. Power matching between the generator and the d-c motor is made possible without a separate control device because the generator or its excitation circuit is designed in such a manner that the voltage induced in the generator winding exhibits a steep dependence within a narrow operational speed range.

  • Patent number: 4672291
Abstract: This invention pertains to an electrical machine whose excitation is coordinated to the respective rpm in such a fashion that a desired characteristic of induced voltage or delivered output is produced. For that purpose at least one portion of the windings generating or controlling the working flux of the machine or a resistance wired in series before the machine is connected to a rectifier circuit, which is supplied, through a frequency-dependent impedance network, with an a.c. voltage of a frequency proportional to the machine rpm.

  • Patent number: 4394582
Abstract: A method and apparatus for utilizing the waste heat energy of an internal combustion engine in which a turbine is driven by the exhaust gases from the engine and drives an electrical generator. In order to permit a direct coupling between the turbine and the generator and to utilize completely the electrical energy recoverable from the waste heat energy, the generator is a synchronous machine with a non-wound rotor, the generator being connected via an electrical converter to an electric motor which is drivingly coupled to the internal combustion engine to relieve the load therein.

  • Patent number: 4390941
Abstract: A static magnetic frequency multiplier has iron structures which form a closed magnetic circuit and which carry a polyphase primary winding having p.sub.1 pole pairs distributed in slots. The winding legs, pitch, interleaving of circuits, setting of the slots, and the like, of the primary winding are so constructed that a voltage is induced at its terminals only by the fundamental of a field which has the pole pair number p.sub.1. In addition, the iron structures carry a secondary winding with the pole pair number p.sub.2 which is an uneven multiple of p.sub.1 and which is distributed in slots, being magnetically coupled to the primary winding. The secondary winding is designed so that no voltage is induced at its terminals by the fundamental of a field having the pole pair number p.sub.1.

  • Patent number: 4387419
Abstract: In stationary magnetic frequency multipliers which comprise a polyphase primary winding distributed in slots and a secondary winding magnetically coupled to the former, a travelling field can be produced if the primary and secondary windings, designed as ring windings, are arranged in two opposite rows of slots of an iron member with which a return member is so closely associated as to rest isolated against the tooth ends of the latter. In order that at least the primary winding neet not extend over at least two full pole pitches, laminated connecting parts are provided outside of the wound zone of the respective slotted iron member. These connecting parts establish a magnetic connection between the slotted iron member and the return member and are designed so that they remain unsaturated in any operating state.
