  • Patent number: 8339822
Abstract: A method for operating a single-phase, mid-frequency welding transformer formed with a transformer core having a primary coil and a secondary coil connected into a secondary circuit has several steps. The several steps include regulating a magnetic flux density (B) in the transformer core between an upper flux density threshold value (Bm) and a lower flux density threshold value (?Bm), by applying, in alteration, a first voltage (UDC) and a second voltage (?UDC) to the primary coil of the transformer, and regulating a load current (ibr) in the secondary circuit between an upper load current threshold value (ibr-zg) and a lower load current threshold value (ibr-sp), by applying, in alternation, a third voltage (0V)to the primary coil of the transformer.

  • Publication number: 20110210098
Abstract: A method for operating a welding device (1), wherein the welding device has at least one welding electrode (4), which is operated with at least one variable electrical reference value and wherein this electrical reference value is controlled by a control device (6), wherein the control of the electrical reference value takes place with allowance being made for a set of reference data (25) that is characteristic of a welding operation to be carried out. According to the invention, the set of reference data (25) is determined on the basis of at least one set of raw data (23a, 23b, 23c, 23d), wherein this set of raw data (23a, 23b, 23c, 23d) is characteristic of the welding operation to be carried out.

  • Publication number: 20100039206
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a transformer (130), in particular a (single-phase) mid-frequency welding transformer, with a transformer core (131) with a primary winding (132) and a secondary winding (133), which is connected into a secondary circuit (120), comprising the regulation of a magnetic flux density (B) in the transformer core (131) between an upper flux density threshold value (Bm) and a lower flux density threshold value (?Bm) and the regulation of a load current (ibr) in the secondary circuit (120) between an upper load current threshold value (ibr-zg) and a lower load current threshold value (ibr-sp). The invention likewise relates to a corresponding apparatus (200). The invention reduces in particular voltage peaks and saturation effects, which otherwise occur during operation of a mid-frequency transformer.

  • Patent number: 7247810
Abstract: The invention originates in the field of resistance welding technology, among other means by means of welding robots 1, for use in roll seam welding, projection welding or spot welding, and has to do with accommodating components for operation inside the housing 2 of the welding tongs. Taking the demands in terms of weight into account, the object of the invention is to achieve the most effective possible utilization of space for the housing 2 of the welding tongs carried by the welding robot. The housing 2 of the welding tongs is given a module 3 for this purpose. This module 3 includes modular components that are relevant to performing the welding process that is monitored by the welding controller.

  • Patent number: 7055388
Abstract: The invention relates to an ultrasonic sensor system, especially for controlling a resistance welding process. Said system comprises at least one receiver which is used to detect the ultrasonic signals from the area to be examined. At least two piezoelectric sensors (31, 32) are used as a receiver and are arranged in such a way that their polarization direction vectors indicate various directions, said vectors being projected in a plane perpendicular in relation to the propagation direction of an ultrasonic wave to be detected.
