  • Patent number: 5272633
Abstract: The invention concerns a pneumatic spring-mounted vehicle seat with an electronic control, which controls at least the air valves of the pneumatic spring as a function of the swing strokes of the rocker system. It is proposed that an accurate analogous-path and time-equal electrical pattern be produced with only one swing stroke sensor for the swing strokes, and this sensor is applied continually to the input of a microprocessor, and thus this pattern can be compared, during the operational state of the seat and in constant recurring program sequences, with preset and, as the case may be, changeable event theoretical values.

  • Patent number: 4638982
Abstract: A device for monitoring the operation of pneumatic seats for vehicles, the seats being supported by a pneumatically-operated spring to give a resilient seat mounting. The monitoring device operates at the commencement of use of the seat and also during use of the seat in case of possible leaks of air.Sensing elements are located at positions above and below a rated central position and are actuated according to movements of the seat from the centralposition. Actuation the sensing elements provides signals for a counter device which when an upper or lower limiting value is reached automatically resets itself to a starting value between the two limiting values and emits a control signal corresponding to the limiting value reached. The control signal operates an air valve for a predetermined length of time to supply air to or discharge air from the pneumatic spring.

  • Patent number: 4616874
Abstract: A vehicle seat assembly is for a vehicle seat having a back rest and a seat surface. The back rest is adjustable in inclination and the seat surface is adjustable in height and inclination. To reduce the height of the assembly and to enable the height and inclination of the seat surface to be adjusted independently of the back rest inclination, the seat frame is supported at its front end by levers. At the rear end of the seat frame is a support frame and a back rest frame, the back rest frame being movable relative to the support frame to raise and lower the rear end of the seat frame. The support frame and back rest frame are movable together about a horizontal axis to adjust the inclination of the back rest and the seat frame is suspended at its rear end on the back rest frame.

  • Patent number: 4400033
Abstract: A seat has a back rest 2 and an arm rest 12 the inclination of the arm rest being adjustable and the arm rest being movable from an in use position to an out of use raised position. In order to prevent the position of the arm rest being changed when the back rest inclination is changed the arm rest is attached to the seat by a parallelogram linkage. Of the four shafts of the linkage one 5 is the pivotal connection of the back rest to the seat frame, one 7 is the pivotal connection of the arm rest to the back rest, one 23 is at one end of a tie rod 13 by which the tie rod connects to the seat frame, and the last shaft is a spindle 14 connected to the other end of the tie rod.In its position of use the arm rest is releasably attached to the spindle and is released from the spindle when moved to the out of use position. The spindle is guided along an arcuate slot 20 in a plate 8 attached to the arm rest and pivotable about the arm rest pivot.

  • Patent number: 4213594
Abstract: A spring loaded vehicle seat is of the kind having a seat frame and an underframe supports this seat frame by levers and a pneumatic spring so that the seat is maintained at a constant height. Valves control the flow of air to and from the spring to counteract the effect of vibrations. A switch mechanism controls the operation of the valves and a coupling device transmits vibrations of the seat to the mechanism. The coupling device is arranged so that movement of the mechanism after opening a valve lags behind the vibration of the seat.
