  • Publication number: 20090172920
Abstract: An apparatus for connecting two sections (8, 9) of at least one elongate object in an adjustable and detachable manner has a receiving housing (1), has two blocking parts (10, 11) which are mounted in the receiving housing (1) so as to be moveable relative to one another and are arranged such that, in an engagement position, they engage so as to clamp in each case one section, and has guide ducts (3, 4) for defined guidance of the sections (8, 9) in the receiving housing (1). The guide ducts (3, 4) are arranged such that they are aligned with one another axially, while the blocking parts (10, 11) are arranged on the same side of the guide ducts (3, 4). This results in a design which, while providing a high degree of locking action, is very simple and is therefore cost-effective to produce.

  • Patent number: 5807050
Abstract: An anchor for a bolt formed of a single strip of sheet metal includes a pair of opposed shell portions having helically aligned connecting strips. The shell portions extend from a bottom end of the anchor having a threaded sleeve for accepting the bolt. The free ends of the shell portions have tabs extending outwardly for engagement into the plate in which the member is being installed. The anchor is formed by first stamping a strip of metal and then bending the ends of the strip to form a cylindrical shell. Axially aligned tabs on the free ends extend into complimentary recesses to join the two shell halves together.

  • Patent number: 5443343
Abstract: A metal dowel for anchorage in a wall panel, said dowel being made from a folded blank of sheet metal and comprising a pair of flat leg members folded over at one end to lie flat against each other, the legs tapering toward the folded end to form a pointed end to the dowel and being held together at said folded end by a breakable web formed by the fold between said legs. The leg members are fixedly connected together at the opposite end to form a head end to the dowel and a threaded hole is formed out of and located between the legs adjacent the head end of the dowel with a funnel-shaped recess formed out of and located between said legs being axially aligned with said threaded hole and located between the threaded hole and the pointed end. After insertion of the dowel pointed end first into a panel, threading of a threaded member into the threaded hole with the tip thereof entering into said recess, breaks the web and forces the legs apart to anchor the dowel in the panel.

  • Patent number: 4714392
Abstract: A self-locking sheet-metal nut having a generally flat leg with an embossed thread portion for receipt of a screw and a pair of locking tabs resiliently and integrally connected to one end of said leg that extend over and are spaced from the leg. The tabs are approximately perpendicular to the axis of the screw and have clamping edges which are directed toward each other and form an opening downstream of the embossed thread portion that is smaller than the core diameter of the screw to be threaded into the nut. Upon turning of a screw through the nut, the clamping edges are forced apart and resiliently grip the core of the screw to lock it in place.
