  • Publication number: 20070208523
Abstract: A device and a method for determining the quality of imaging of printing plates by means of, in particular, an optoelectronic sensor for detecting a reference mark that is disposed inside or outside the printing area which includes different reference fields is provided. An evaluation unit is provided for evaluating the measured values determined by the sensor. The sensor is configured to detect at least two reference marks located on the printing plate. Each of the reference marks includes a combination of reference fields having at least one tone value reference field and at least one structured reference field, or at least one reference mark includes at least one tone value reference field while at least one additional reference mark includes at least one structured reference field.

  • Patent number: 5913267
Abstract: In a process and a device for adapting the position of printing plates (4) to the deformation (fan-out) of the paper web (2) to be printed through damp, ink absorption and mechanical stress on passing between several successive pairs of printing rolls (1) and also for adaptation to deformations possibly occuring in the fixing device of a printing roll (1) and resultant changes in the position of a printing plate (4), the printing plate (4) and/or the mount holding it in the stamping or bending machine (5) is moved or shifted laterally, in the circumferential direction and/or angularly by the amount required for said printing plate (4) on the printing roll (1) owing to said deformation of the paper web (2) to be printed, in order to obtain a print corresponding with a preceding printing roll (1), as considered in the direction of feed of the paper web, despite the paper deformation that has meanwhile occured. Thereafter the deformations, i.e.

  • Patent number: 4818319
Abstract: Process for reducing the water vapour diffusion in a plastics composite insulator consisting of several layers by incorporation of at least one mica-containing layer as diffusion barrier in the form of a surface or intermediate layer on at least one plastics body, constituting the composite insulator.

  • Patent number: 4805064
Abstract: A lightning arrester having two terminal fittings (3), at least one resistor core (1) which contacts with the latter and which is of voltage-dependent resistance material, and an insulating housing (5) closely surrounding the resistor core (1). A lightning arrester of the generic type is to be created which can be manufactured with relatively low energy expenditure, without additional assembly effort and by a simple process. This is achieved by the housing (5) consisting of a resin matrix with embedded filler, the filler making up over 80% by weight of the housing, and by the housing (5) surrounding at least one resistor core (1) and the region of the terminal fittings (3) contacting the latter. The housing (5) is produced by the setting of a cast moulding compound.

  • Patent number: 4650648
Abstract: In modern ozone generators high power densities can be achieved using ceramic-based dielectrics and suitable gap widths and double cooling. By constructing the dielectric layer from dielectric powders of different grain size and binding with artificial resin, the long-term breakdown voltage of the dielectric layer can be increased to such an extent that they fulfil the operating requirements.

  • Patent number: 4433081
Abstract: Provided is an electrical insulation body useful in electrical installations operated with SF.sub.6 as a quenching and/or insulating gas. The insulation body is comprised of a thermosetting resin matrix and a mineral filler of predominantly quartz powder and from about 5 to 50 percent by weight of the mineral filler of a second mineral powder component for increasing resistance to SF.sub.6 cleavage products, which second component comprises at least one alkaline earth metal carbonate.
