  • Patent number: 5346742
Abstract: A sealing tape for wrapping up a cable, in particular a communication cable or the like, to be extended through a cable passageway opening, for forming a seal between the cable and the cable passageway opening, has on its inner surface facing the cable a roughened surface area that excludes axial and circumferential displacement of the sealing tape relative to the cable under influence of intervening axial and torsional loads, thereby insuring anti-skid placing of the cable in the cable passageway opening.

  • Patent number: 5124507
Abstract: A cable splice assembly for connecting and branching cables, particularly telecommunication cables. The cable splice assembly includes a splice assembly pipe and sealing members with cable passage openings for insertion in the end faces of the pipe sleeve. The sealing members are transversely divided into sealing member halves which include semicircular sealing elements which line the cable passage openings. The sealing members each have two cable passage openings which are spaced from each other at a predetermined distance in longitudinal direction of the cable. An injection chamber suitable for all cables is provided between the front and rear cable passage openings. The sealing member halves have tongue and groove connections in the abutting edge surfaces. The sealing member halves can be clamped to each other. Individually removable bearing shells are placed in the cable passage openings in order to adapt the openings to different cable diameters.

  • Patent number: 5111556
Abstract: An arrangement for closing a cable socket for connecting and branching cables, particularly telecommunication cables. The arrangement includes a longitudinally divided socket pipe and closing sections which each have an undercut and limit the longitudinal division. The arrangement also includes a closure which engages the undercuts and extends over the closing sections. The closure is a gripping closure which includes a cover member and a gripping stirrup, wherein the cover member has at one longitudinal side thereof a claw for engaging behind one of the closing sections. At the other longitudinal side of the cover member, the gripping stirrup is pivotally mounted and forms in the pivoted state a claw for engaging behind the other closing section. When the gripping stirrup is pivoted beyond a dead center position, the longitudinal edges of the socket pipe are pressed together.

  • Patent number: 5113038
Abstract: A cable splice assembly for connecting and branching cables, particularly telecommunication cables. The splice assembly includes a longitudinally divided pipe sleeve and longitudinal sealing element between the abutting edges of the pipe sleeve. Transversely divided sealing members surrounded by the pipe sleeve are arranged at the ends of the pipe sleeve. The sealing members have cable passage openings adaptable to different cable diameters. The circumferential sealing elements are pressed in circumferential locking grooves between the pipe sleeve and sealing member. The circumferential sealing elements are divided O-type sealing rings with sealing tongues at the ends thereof. The O-type sealing rings have two sealing projections which engage in the abutting area of the sealing member halves. The sealing projections have locking recesses.
