  • Patent number: 4539912
Abstract: An arrangement for bridging adjacent cars in high speed railway vehicles posed of an inflatable chamber bellows section which extends entirely or partially about the outer structure of the cars wherein the stiffness of the bellows section may be automatically adjusted to respective requirements of high speed travel and travel through curves in such a manner that the internal pressure in the chambers of the bellows section which is produced by inflating the section is controlled in a stepless manner or in individual steps by a control system supplied with fluid pressure through the compressed air system of the vehicle or from a compressor.

  • Patent number: 4411201
Abstract: Bridging structures are arranged between adjacent cars of trains, for exae high speed, track guided trains or between the sections of buses having at least two sections. A first type of bridging structure provides a sealed walk-through passage between adjacent cars or bus sections. A second type of bridging structure provides a transition or continuity between adjacent cars or bus sections at the outer housing or shell wall thereof for assuring a streamlined or flush continuity between adjacent cars or bus sections. Both types may be used in combination whereby the first sealing type bridging structure is arranged inside the second type which provides the streamlined or flush continuity at the outer housing or shell wall of a railroad car or bus.

  • Patent number: 4183572
Abstract: The present noise damping apparatus is especially intended for damping the noise caused by wheels running on rails. For this purpose there is provided a noise screen connected to at least one surface of the rail wheel in a force transmitting, yet removable manner. The noise screen comprises vibration damping reed members. This screen prevents noise generated by the wheel proper from radiating outwardly and it also acts as a noise absorber for the impact noise propagating in the wheel and other solid bodies.
