  • Patent number: 7178443
Abstract: A wedge-type breechblock is provided for a weapon having a barrel that recoils relative to a cradle, the barrel having a bore with an axis, and a breech plate. The breechblock includes a closing wedge for arranging in the breech plate such that the closing wedge can be displaced transverse to the axis of the bore. A pin-type carrier, through a control lever and a breech mechanism shaft, activates the closing wedge. An ascending curved track is located on a guiding device, and guides the pin-type carrier during a counter-recoil motion of the barrel from an intake region to a highest point, so that the control lever is pivoted during the counter-recoil motion of the barrel and the breech mechanism shaft is turned to move the closing wedge to an opened position.

  • Patent number: 5659148
Abstract: A gun includes a barrel which has a barrel wall; a barrel chamber defined by the barrel wall; and a recess provided in the barrel wall in the zone of the barrel chamber. There is further provided a chamber temperature sensing assembly which includes a temperature sensor disposed in the recess for providing an electric signal representing temperatures of the barrel chamber; an electronic evaluating circuit; and an electric conductor connecting the temperature sensor with the electronic evaluating circuit. The electric conductor has lead wire portions which are situated in the recess of the barrel wall and which, together with the temperature sensor, are embedded in a casting mass accommodated in the recess.

  • Patent number: 5185493
Abstract: An apparatus for manually loading ammunition into one end of a gun tube includes a lift-type breechblock wedge operatively arranged for sealing and unsealing the one end of the gun tube. The breechblock wedge has an underside including at least two lateral guide strips attached thereto, a recess for receiving one end of a locking member and a pin having an enlarged head that projects from the underside. An ammunition loading tray is disposed at the one end of the gun tube for insertion of ammunition into the gun tube. The tray has at least two lateral ribs operatively arranged for sliding engagement with the guide strips. One of the lateral ribs includes an elongated opening which extends in the axial direction of the gun tube. The elongated opening has a first portion, axially adjacent the gun tube through which the pin head can be pushed, and a second portion, axially remote from the gun tube, for receiving the pin. The one rib further includes a displaceable locking member.

  • Patent number: 5177990
Abstract: An autofrettage device for a tube includes thrust bearings for receiving opposite ends of the tube. A mandrel is introducible into the tube and includes a sealing arrangement for sealing an annular gap between the mandrel and an inner wall of the tube against escape of a pressure medium supplied to the annular gap. A mandrel holder including a ball joint socket supports the end of said mandrel so that the mandrel is pivotally movable relative to the mandrel holder.
