  • Publication number: 20180283485
Abstract: A fluid damper comprises a housing having a working chamber, a damping fluid disposed in the working chamber, a piston unit arranged in the working chamber, the piston unit comprising a piston rod, a piston secured to the piston rod in such a way as to divide the working chamber in a first working chamber part and a second working chamber part, at least one flow duct interconnecting the first working chamber part and the second working chamber part, at least one bypass duct interconnecting the first working chamber part and the second working chamber part, an overload valve that blocks a fluid flow through the bypass duct in a blocking position and is arranged in a release position as soon as a minimum fluid pressure is reached, wherein in said release position, a fluid flow through the bypass duct is possible.

  • Patent number: 7328875
Abstract: An adjustable-height chair column comprises an upright tube and a gas spring, the piston rod of which is fixed in the upright tube, and the housing of which is displaceably guided in the upright tube. A safeguard against rotation is provided which, in the extended position, locks the housing and the upright tube against rotation.

  • Patent number: 5445564
Abstract: Funfair rides (10) on which the passenger reception (17) is assigned to the end of a cantilever arm (14) which can move about a horizontal axis of rotation (13) are known. The movement of the passenger reception corresponds substantially to that of the circular path of the cantilever, so that only very limited impressions of movement can be conveyed.According to the invention, it is provided that the passenger reception (17) is able to move on at least one further circular path in the region of the end of the cantilever arm (14). In this case, the passengers are moved on a cycloidal path.

  • Patent number: 4842267
Abstract: The invention relates to a device usable in an amusement park in association with a rotatable carousel having a support arm which supports a cylindrical bearing for a car which is used to accommodate one or more persons. The cylindrical bearing is held substantially vertically so that it defines a rotatable horizontal axis which rotatably supports the car. The car is suspended so that the center of gravity of the car holds in a position so that it accommodates the passengers in an upright position. Means are provided to bias the car into an upright position, but to permit it to rotate about its horizontal axis. A feature of the construction is that the car is provided with a control which may be manipulated by a passenger to orient wings of the device so that the device has a tendency to effect a roll about its horizontal axis.
