  • Patent number: 7625395
Abstract: A bone screw has a flexible shaft which prevents relative movements in the direction of tension, but permits smaller movements in all other directions. The bone screw is configured as a screw insertable into medullary cavities having a curved surface, where the screw adapts to the given contour.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 7, 2005
Date of Patent: December 1, 2009
    Assignee: Novoplant GmbH
    Inventor: Helmut Mückter
  • Patent number: 7276070
Abstract: To be able to secure a bone screw, in particular one that can be aligned polyaxially, especially fixedly and nevertheless easily and detachably in an osteosynthesis plate or a comparable implant, a clamping bore is proposed in addition to a receiving bore, whereby the receiving bore holds a bone screw directly or indirectly, and the clamping bore runs essentially perpendicular to the osteosynthesis plate or parallel to the receiving bore, and with a recess in the area of the bores, preferably between the bores, being arranged in relation to the receiving bore in such a way that widening of the clamping bore results in a constriction of the receiving bore.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 14, 2004
Date of Patent: October 2, 2007

  • Publication number: 20040024285
Abstract: A blood pump having a pump housing and an impeller disposed in the housing and driven by an electric drive includes at least two connection devices directly disposed at the housing for connection to an artery outside the heart such as for example a suture ring or a vascular prosthesis and configured in such a manner to realize a direct connection of the artery to the pump housing, and wherein a pump conduit can be implanted into the aorta ascendens for relieving the left ventricle and in the truncus pulmonalis or into the pulmonalis furcation for reliving the right cardiac ventricle and other blood vessels for improving the blood circulation or elevating the pressure in a certain vascular section.

  • Patent number: 6468278
Abstract: A plate provides guides for preferably two screws, which hold the screws in a stable way at an angle against the plate. Furthermore, the screws are preferably fixed in a stable and removable way with a clamping device against rotations around the screw barrel and shifts in the direction of the screw barrel. For this a special screw is suitable with an outer thread diameter, which is larger than the neighboring barrel diameter. To ensure a secure guidance, the barrel diameter is enlarged in the area of the screw head.

  • Patent number: 5817279
Abstract: Apparatus for processing fluids, in particular blood, includes a housing having an fluid inlet port and a fluid outlet port, with the housing being formed by an outer tube, an intermediate tube set within the outer tube for forming a first chamber therebetween, and an inner tube set within the intermediate for forming a second chamber therebetween. Disposed within the chambers are a plurality of hollow fiber membranes for suitably conducting heat exchange fluid and gas. The first and second chambers are so interconnected to one another and the inlet port and outlet ports are so disposed as to effect a fluid flow path through the chambers in longitudinal direction of the tubes.
