Abstract: A dispensing device for dental retraction material. The dispensing device has a cannula that forms a free front end. The free front end is formed by a first cannula portion and a second cannula portion that is arranged directly adjacent the first cannula portion. The first cannula portion has a first elongated section and a first rounded section. The second cannula portion has a second elongated section and a second rounded section. A first outer diameter (D1) of the cannula is defined on the first rounded section at the free front end, and a second outer diameter (D2) of the cannula is defined on the second rounded section at the transition between the second rounded section and the first cannula portion. The second outer diameter is greater than the first outer diameter. The first cannula portion comprises a predetermined separation structure directly adjacent the second cannula portion. The first cannula portion can be broken or cut off to provide the dispensing device with a new free front end.

Abstract: A dispensing gun for dispensing a dental material. The dispensing gun has a body with a receptacle for receiving a cartridge therein, a plunger that is displaceable relative to the receptacle, and a lever that is suspended pivotally relative to the body. The plunger has a linear toothing and the lever has an annular gear segment. The linear toothing and the annular gear segment are permanently engaged with each other so that any pivot of the lever in a first direction causes the plunger to displace forward and any pivot of the lever in an opposite second direction causes the plunger to displace backward.

Abstract: The invention features a composition which can or is to be used in a dental retraction, the composition comprising liquid a liquid and a layer type 1:1 silicate mineral and a layer type 2:1 silicate mineral in a ratio from about 50/50 to 5/95 wt.-% with respect to each other. The invention also relates to a container containing the dental retraction composition and to a kit comprising parts A and B, wherein part A comprises the dental retraction composition and part B comprises at least one accessory selected from the group of applier, dental impression material, retraction cap(s), a container for storing and dispensing the composition and combinations thereof. Abstract: A device for dispensing a material has a container for holding the material, a piston movably arranged within the container and a spindle in cooperation with the piston. The device is configured such that the spindle and the container are rotatable relative to each other to move the piston for dispensing the material. The piston and the spindle are adapted to anti-twist lock against each other in a first axial position of the piston relative to spindle. And in a second axial position of the piston relative to spindle the anti-twist lock between the piston and the spindle is suspended. The device helps minimizing any residual dental material upon attempting to empty the device.

The dispenser is operable by twisting the cover and the handle relative to each other in a dispensing direction for dispensing material and, alternatively, in an opposite closing direction. The container and the cover are arranged relative to each other for a rotation between a closed position, in which the cover closes the outlet, and an open position, in which the dispensing opening opens the outlet. A first engagement mechanism is provided for enabling the container and the handle to engage with each other in at least one angular position during twisting in the closing direction. The first engagement mechanism further forming a freewheel mechanism with respect to a rotation in the dispensing direction.

The first and second thread portion differ in shape and, in combination, form one continuous screw thread. The plunger assembly further has a nut which engages the screw thread by a nut thread. The nut thread corresponds in shape to a negative shape of the first thread portion. The invention help minimizing efforts in the assembly of a device using the plunger assembly.

A plug is movably joined within the cartridge through the rear opening for extruding a liquid second component of the dental material. Abstract: A device for use in retracting a gingiva from a human tooth by widening a gingival sulcus with a dental composition. The device comprises a cannula with a free end having an opening for dispensing the dental composition. The free end is shaped to be inserted with its front in the entry of the gingival sulcus, and to laterally displace the gingiva from the tooth as the cannula is moved in the gingival sulcus. The invention may help to achieve a reliable and cost effective gingival retraction treatment.
