  • Patent number: 6499347
Abstract: In the case of vehicle wheels the single-phase wobble may not exceed a certain maximum value if the vehicle is to satisfy certain demands of comfort. However, in this case it is of little use to measure the wobble of the vehicle brake disc and that of the vehicle hub carrying the said brake disc individually, because this is unable to give any statement concerning the wobble of the entire constructional unit. With the aid of the method according to the invention, the wobble component, due to a wheel hub, of the constructional unit mentioned can be ascertained exactly if the precise data of the very precisely produced master brake disc, which is used in the measurement instead of the vehicle brake disc, is known. The method can only be carried out successfully using the master brake disc mentioned.

  • Patent number: 6444962
Abstract: The invention relates to a heating arrangement that is characterized by a combination of the following features: the heating arrangement consists of at least one heating element (3) in the form of a flat element with two opposite-lying, essentially parallel conductors and a coating arranged therebetween for the generation of electromagnetic waves. The coating material is comprised of a binding agent, an insulating agent, a dispersion agent, water and graphite. The heating device also comprises a control device (7) with a harmonic generator containing an electric component that has a rapid rate of current rise and is suitable for generating a high harmonic content. The harmonic generator is coupled to both electric conductors of the heating element (3) in order to emit a spectrum of vibrations in natural molecular frequency ranges. A low-cost, highly effective heating system is thus provided.

  • Patent number: 6334620
Abstract: The invention relates to a bellows seal for pivot joints, wherein a first end of the bellows is tightly and rigidly connected to the joint housing. The second end of the bellow tightly and annularly surrounds a tappet and has a radial and sealing surface. Said surface is a front face divided into an inner concave ring surface and an outer concave ring surface. In relation to the axis of the bellow, the angle of inclination of the ring surfaces is approximately &agr;=70° for the external ring surface and approximately &bgr;=80° for the inner ring surface. The radial extension of the outer ring surface is approximately 12% in relation to the radius of the outer ring surface of the ring flange of the second end of the bellow.

  • Patent number: 6254922
Abstract: A coating material and method of manufacture for radiation surfaces which produce electromagnetic waves is disclosed. The coating material consists of 55 to 65% mole fraction of a base material and 35 to 45% mole fraction of graphite. The base material contains a binding agent, insulating agent, dispersing agent, and distilled water mixed together. The binding agent is comprised of distilled water, sulfated oil, phenolene or benzoisothiazolinon, casein, urea, alkali diluent and caprolactam. The method for producing the coating material includes the steps of creating the binding agent, mixing the binding agent with the other base components, and finally, mixing in the graphite. The result is a coating material with a plurality of dipoles that produces a high degree of radiation of electromagnetic waves when in a state of excitation.

  • Patent number: 6154970
Abstract: A method of sensing the axle geometry, in particular the toe-in, camber and caster, on motor vehicles with independent wheel suspensions. The inclination of certain links of the wheel suspensions is measured in at least one arbitrary motor-vehicle position, or the inclination measurements are carried out in the case of certain links of the wheel suspensions and one specific location of the vehicle body in at least one arbitrary motor-vehicle position. The measured values sensed are sent via a data line or wirelessly to a computer and either compared with vehicle-type-specific setpoint values or setpoint value ranges adapted in the computer to the currently applicable motor-vehicle position or are converted in the computer to a neutral motor-vehicle position and compared with the vehicle-type-specific setpoint values or setpoint value ranges based on a neutral motor-vehicle position.

  • Patent number: 6113299
Abstract: A position-variable face-side clamping of a ring body between bearing legs with a screw bolt is to permit a central mounting of the screw bolt at reasonable cost. It must be possible to use especially profiled screw bolts for eccentric positions. For this purpose, the ring body and/or the bearing legs are provided with one oblong hole respectively which, on its longitudinal sides, has, in each case, at least two axially aligned, mutually opposite guide webs. In the case of oblong holes with only two guide webs on each longitudinal side, a centric mounting is possible by using a bolt with a cylindrical circumferential surface which can be received between the two guide webs. Eccentric offsets are permitted by the use of special formed bolts which have guide grooves assigned to the guide webs.
