  • Patent number: 5582220
Abstract: An apparatus for transporting containers intermittently. The apparatus has two guide rails which extend in a horizontal plane. Container carriers, which have receiving elements for the containers are disposed on the guide rails. The container carriers are fed by means of gearing embodied on them and transport gears embodied on the guide rails. Transfer devices and format changer devices are disposed on the ends of the guide rails. The output of the apparatus can be increased by subdividing it into continuous and intermittent feed zones.

  • Patent number: 5383325
Abstract: A device for feeding a specific number of spheres into a container from a supply conduit via a sphere-metering device so that a predetermined number of spheres reaches a container. The metering device has a groove that is aligned with the outlet of the supply conduit and the opening of the positioned container and functions in conjunction with a cylindrical worm conveyor that covers this opening laterally and whose axis of rotation runs parallel to the extension of the groove. As the worm conveyor rotates by one turn, the spirals in cooperation with the stationary groove, guide the required number of spheres form-fittingly and forcibly into the container. A sensor of a monitoring device detects the conveyance of the spheres in order to feed the proper number of spheres to the container.

  • Patent number: 5365718
Abstract: Bottles are closed with capsules whose free end segment is crimped over the top of the bottles. To avoid abrasion and turbulence, the end segment of the cap is deformed by a simultaneous, uniform upsetting of its entire circumference in a female die. An apparatus for carrying out the invention has a female die that is split into two parts, with cylindrical bores and with a constricting rib on a bottom portion which fits around the neck of the bottles. The rib has a concavely rounded side upon which the end segment of the cap, is thrust against and is deflected toward the bottle. The female die is split into two jaws that can be pivoted toward one another and whose opening and closing motion is coupled to the motion of an axially displacable male dies that displace the capsules in the female die for sealing the capsules onto the bottle.

  • Patent number: 4539696
Abstract: A target device for an X-ray examination installation has a cassette carrier which permits loading of an X-ray film cassette therein from the left or the right, the cassette carrier is movable from a ready position at a right of the installation through at least one exposure position and to a left side loading position. The cassette carriage has two clamping jaws disposed parallel to each other in a regulating plane, the jaws being two-dimensionally displaceable relative to each other in the regulating plane. The carriage further has a detent for fixing the position of the X-ray film cassette in the longitudinal direction of the clamping jaws. The clamping jaws are urged against each other in the right side loading position by a bias spring, and are urged apart in the left side loading position. A clamping slide having a projection extending into the regulating plane of the device between the clamping jaws is moveable within the cassette carriage in the longitudinal direction of the clamping jaws.

  • Patent number: 4432095
Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment displaceable clamping jaws mount x-ray film cassettes of varying format for movement into the exposure position. In the case of such x-ray cassette changers it is necessary that the width-definition of the cone of rays corresponds to the dimensions of the inserted x-ray film cassette. The film support, in the case of fluoroscopy, should be capable of being removed from the examination apparatus without difficulties. For this purpose, the disclosure provides that the film support and the clamping jaws are coupled with transmitters which assume positions with respect to a displacement direction of the film support in dependence on the clamping positions of the respective pairs of clamping jaws. Associated with the transmitters are receivers which, together with an actual value transmitter responsive to movement of the film support, are connected to a measured value processing arrangement.
