  • Patent number: 7562416
Abstract: The invention relates to a damping device for parts of furniture which are joined together by means of hinges and which can be pivoted in relation to each other. The housing contains a damping fluid in the cavity thereof and a resistance element which can be displaced relative to the damping fluid and connected to an actuating element protruding from the housing. During at least one part of the pivoting movement of both pieces of furniture, said actuating element is drivingly connected to the second piece of furniture and transfers the movement distributed to the second piece of furniture to the resistance element. The damping device is arranged in the region of at least one of the hinges which pivotally couples both pieces of furniture, and whereby either the damping housing and/or the actuating element engages with one of the mounting element of the corresponding hinges, at least during the damping process.

  • Patent number: 5400649
Abstract: An apparatus is furnished for sensing the tire pressure and for generating a signal by way of an actuator. If the tire pressure drops below the predetermined reference tire pressure, then this is signalled immediately and instantly within a relatively small pressure tolerance threshold. The pressure sensitive device 1 includes a valve device 7. The valve device 7 connects the tire pressure, applied to the actuator 4 and acting against the force of the compression spring 6, to the atmosphere if the tire pressure drops below a predetermined reference tire pressure. The apparatus is suitable for generating a permanent signal, even in case no further pressure remains in a tire.

  • Patent number: 5226315
Abstract: A device for monitoring the sealing properties of a gas-filled chamber is provided. The temperature-sensitive device is formed out of a thermally-reacting element (14, 19, 20, 24). The element changes its dimensional length depending on a temperature change. The element (14, 19, 20, 24) is disposed between a pressure measurement device (6, 11) and a valve (7, 8; 9, 10), serving as a signal generator. The device can be used for a monitoring of the pressure in a vehicle tire or of the gas density in a vehicle tire.

  • Patent number: 5181418
Abstract: The invention device monitors the pressure of a measurement chamber subjected to the pressure prevailing in a vehicle tire. A pressure-sensitive device scans the tire pressure with a pressure measurement member in a measurement chamber. In case of a tire-pressure drop, the tire pressure is used to actuate an auxiliary actuator (3, 24, 26). The auxiliary actuator genrates the regulating distance (s) dependent on a tire pressure drop below a pressure value required for an actuation of the actuator (13). The regulating distance (s) is recognizable by a sensor. The invention device is suitable for providing a permanent signal even in case of an absence of pressure in the measurement chamber (21).

  • Patent number: 5101754
Abstract: A device for the surveillance of the pressure of a vehicle tire includes a pressure-sensitive device which senses the tire pressure and generates, in case of a pressure loss in the tire, a pressure change signal. A set member is actuated with this pressure change signal such that the signal member performs a stroke. A sensor tests the position of the set member and recognizes when the tire pressure is too low. A pressure-sensitive device (1) includes a check valve (9, 12), opening toward the pressure discharge port (3). The pressure at the pressure discharge port (3) can be blocked versus the tire pressure based on the check valve (9, 12). The invention device is suitable for furnishing a continuous signal up to the complete emptying of a tire.

  • Patent number: 4679865
Abstract: A relay valve device having a first control surface and a second control surface. A shut-off device is located in the line feeding the control pressure into the second control surface throughout the period in which a signal pressure is present, and connecting the second control surface to atmosphere at other times. Thus, the relay valve device releases a greater pressure into a load circuit when actuated during effectiveness of the signal pressure than while the signal pressure is not effective. The shut-off device having a pressure relief valve with a switch-off device so that when the signal pressure is effective, the switch-off device switches OFF the pressure relief function of the pressure relief valve and so that when the signal pressure is not effective, the pressure relief valve is opened as long as the control pressure remains below the relief pressure and is closed when the control pressure moves above the relief pressure.

  • Patent number: 4666217
Abstract: The invention relates to a load-controlled brake force controller system for a pneumatically operated brake for tractor and/or trailer vehicles. A housing includes a load-controlled brake pressure controller for regulating the control pressure released by a brake valve as a function of the load sustained by the vehicle. A relay valve connected in series relationship with the brake pressure controller to cause compressed air to be introduced to the brake from a reservoir when the brake valve is activated. The relay valve being activated by a relay piston which is pressurized toward an open direction of the relay valve by a modulated pressure and toward a closed direction of the relay valve by the braking pressure in an outlet chamber which is connected to the brakes and which can be connected by the relay valve to the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 4640556
Abstract: The invention relates to a load-dependent brake pressure system for a pneumatically activated motor vehicle and/or motor vehicle trailer brake apparatus with an entrance device having an initial entrance phase in which the full control pressure is delivered to the cylinders of the wheel brakes. In an emergency situation, the supply pressure which is available on the vehicle must be able to be conveyed in a graduated and controlled manner as the brake pressure is applied to the wheel brakes. The present load-dependent brake pressure system which, in an emergency situation, makes possible the application of brake pressures which are higher than that corresponding to the control ratio up to the available delivery pressure, includes an entrance valve and piston, a control valve, a brake control piston, a relay valve, auxiliary valves, a control, delivery, brake pressure connections and chambers, and a valve tappet for controlling brake pressures in multiple phases.

  • Patent number: 4538013
Abstract: A process for preventing the formation of polymeric by-products during the production of Diels-Alder adducts is improved by the addition of NO or of a compound splitting off NO in situ, as a polymerization inhibitor. This process is especially effective for preventing the formation of polymeric by-products in the manufacture of 5-vinylnorbornene-2. In a tubular reactor, when observing narrow temperature and pressure ranges, a high selectivity is obtained in the production of this adduct.

  • Patent number: 4444439
Abstract: Apparatus for adjusting a mechanically operable load-dependent braking force regulator including a control shaft having a cam surface for setting the axial position of a push rod which controls a valve for supplying brake-operating pressure according to the axial position of said push rod. The axial position of the push rod is set by the cam surface on the control shaft which is rotated through a lever reflecting the actual vehicle load. The regulator may be set at a location away from the vehicle, such as a test rack, then installed on the vehicle. Thus it is not necessary to transport the testing equipment to the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4145089
Abstract: A load-controlled fluid pressure regulating valve device for tractor-trailer type vehicle brake systems which combines in a single housing a unitary piston valve assemblage capable of performing the functions of a relay valve device and a regulating valve device. The unitary valve assemblage is acted upon under normal circumstances by the brake valve control fluid pressure and is further arranged for direct actuation by an emergency piston in the event of fluid pressure loss in the trailer supply line due to uncoupling or to a broken pipe. The valve assemblage is adjustably positioned in accordance with the vehicle load condition such that the relay valve function reflects the load regulating control valve.

  • Patent number: 4125290
Abstract: A vehicle load-controlled brake pressure regulating valve device which combines in one housing a unitary valve device performing dual functions of a vehicle load responsive control valve and of a relay valve, whereby the relay valve function is effected by pressure regulated by the vehicle load function. The dual purpose valve device functions as a unit in a single housing to thereby reduce manufacturing costs and installation space required.
