  • Publication number: 20100229543
Abstract: A device for influencing an exhaust gas flow, in particular for controlling sound emission in an exhaust branch of an engine, has a closure member that is driven by a motor in the exhaust pipe. The closure member produces pressure pulsations in the exhaust gas, so that a so-called “sound design” is possible. A force-transmitting, thermal decoupling member is integrated into a force transmission member located between the drive motor and the closure member to interrupt the heat transfer between the closure member and the drive motor.

  • Publication number: 20100170229
Abstract: An exhaust-gas system for a motor vehicle includes at least one exhaust-gas cleaning system and at least one regeneration device for the exhaust-gas cleaning system, by means of which regeneration device an oxidizable fluid in vapor form can be introduced into the exhaust-gas stream ahead of the exhaust-gas cleaning system. The regeneration device includes a housing with a chamber formed in it as well as a heating element positioned in the chamber, the housing having on its upstream side an inflow opening for exhaust gases and on its downstream side an outlet opening and being arranged in the interior of the exhaust-gas stream.

  • Patent number: 7698887
Abstract: An apparatus comprises an emissions trap and a loading determination device. The emissions trap is configured to trap emissions present in exhaust gas and comprises a first local region and a second local region. The loading determination device is configured to determine emissions loading of the first local region and emissions loading of the second local region. An associated method is disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20090217668
Abstract: A device for influencing an exhaust gas flow, in particular for controlling the sound emission in an exhaust branch of an engine, includes a closure member that is movably arranged in the exhaust gas flow. For example, the closure member comprises a flap driven by a motor to move the closure member in the exhaust gas flow. It is thus optionally possible to produce or influence pressure pulsations in the exhaust gas which lead to an audible sound emission. The device according to the invention provides for a so-called “sound design” of a combustion engine. The driving device (the drive motor and a force transmission member to the closure member) is equipped with an active cooling system.

  • Patent number: 7370472
Abstract: An apparatus comprises an emissions trap and a transfer function device. The transfer function device is configured to determine a transfer function of the emissions trap wherein the transfer function is representative of loading of the emissions trap. An associated method is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7332142
Abstract: An apparatus comprises an exhaust system and an injection system. The injection system is configured to vaporize a first liquid portion of an agent into at least one bubble so as to inject a second liquid portion of the agent into the exhaust system by use of the at least one bubble for delivery of the agent to an emission abatement device of the exhaust system. An associated method is disclosed.
